> 3 dayI use this gauge almost every day in my sewing room. In fact, I loved the first one so much I bought two more--an extra to take with me to my quilting group sewing, and an extra for use at my ironing board. This is a very high quality tool, especially for being made out of plastic. But I should not have been surprised, Nancys Notions products are always top notch. This is a very useful tool, for a number of uses. I use it mostly to measure seam and hem widths so my work is straight, but you can use it for working with buttonholes and buttons and other things as well. I recommend this as a basic tool for anyone wishing to sew...it wont disappoint.

> 3 dayThis is a must have gadget for anyone that sews! I love that the top is wide for marking longer runs of fabric. The locking measurement slide is also so helpful as my older gauge would slip and I constantly had to make sure that I was still on the same depth for marking. A very useful tool.

> 3 dayThis tool certainly does the job its advertised to do. Ive never used a tool like this before, and I just find the gauge a little hard to read. I have to keep checking it against a ruler to remind myself where on the device youre supposed to measure from. I like that the pieces of the sliding gauge dont move around, but I find it a bit difficult to release the mechanism to set it to the distance I want. The button is just hard to push. But, still, it has a job to do and it does it adequately.

> 3 dayYou can slide the green slider up, even without holding down the ‘PUSH’ button. Expected it to lock and keep its position till you push the white ‘PUSH’ button area to move it up or down.

> 3 dayI was looking for a sewing gauge that would not bend easily, like so many of the metal ones do these days. After much hemming (no pun intended) and hawing, I chose this one based on some advice from a sewing group. I truly think this is a bit over-priced (and I was lucky enough to get it for $8 not the current price). I do not quilt so I think some of the features are a bit unnecessary, FOR ME personally. I DO like that it clicks into place but on the other hand, I feel like it might snap some times when I do that. This is what I wanted: A gauge that would not bend & a gauge that had a slide that would stay in place during a task. Does this do that? ... yes. Am I happy about that? ... yes. Do I think I had to pay a lot of money for that? ... yes. BUT ... is there another product that does that? ... No. (Not that I could find). I think what it comes down to is: when you get tired of buying metal gauges that bend and dont stay in place then you may decide to buy this. Dont get me wrong, it does A LOT, but if you dont use all those features (like me) its a waste ... I hope this was helpful ... Would I buy this again if/when it breaks ... I dont think so.

> 3 dayI upgraded from my old black metal seam gauge and I really like the longer arms on this one. It makes ironing up seam or hem allowances more accurately. Like it so well I bought a second one for my other machine and class.
