HUGE upgrade over the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT I purchased after deciding to flirt with vinyl again. Dont get me wrong... it was that turntable that convinced me to dive back in. Perfectly fine starter BUT its biggest limitation is you cant change or upgrade the cartridge as you can with Fluance. And its super easy to do with the removable head shell (LP60 is fixed). You can just buy a premounted cartridge and do nothing more than change the head shell and set the tracking force and anti-skate (easy). In hindsight, RT82 would have been a better choice. Superior in every way, the Ortofon OM 10 cart is a vast sound quality improvement with its elliptical shape. The sound is much more defined. The isolation feet make it easy to have turntable and speakers on same surface with no fear of cranking up the volume. Balancing the tonearm was a snap. Personally, I like the auto-stop function just fine, but its not an automatic return. The LP60XBT is fully automatic which I appreciate getting back into it. The RT82 does not have a preamp so you do need to have one or buy an RT81/80 that have an installed preamp. Another option is my set up. I have Klipsch The Fives speakers that are also preamp, amp, BT and more. I didnt love those speakers at first but Klipsch now has an app that allows you to tweak the sound AND I paired with a Klipsch sub... with that... chefs kiss! HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Fluance RT82 to beginners and those on more of a budget. I bought a used one on Amazon but ships directly from Fluance... it seemed all perfectly new, but saved me enough to buy The Stranglers: Peaches. The turntable is the exact same as the 83/84 except the cartridge. If you have the clams, you might just buy the RT85 with the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge or the Nagaoka MP-110. UPDATE 2/26/23: Got upgrade-itis and fitted the tone arm with an AT VM530EN/H cartridge. Another HUGE step up in sound. Name the fancy audiophile words and, yep, it’s a lot better. The OM10 was fine. The new cart was so much finer! It’s paired with a Pyle PP999 preamp, Aiyma T9 amp (very underrated) and Sony SSCS5 speakers, Klipsch R-12SWi sub. This is a nice sounding setup for getting in. I’m going to upgrade the preamp, just haven’t found the right deal yet! I bought everything on deep sale or box damaged. Turntable 275, amp 80, preamp 13, speakers 66 (regularly see box damage drop under 80), sub at Costco 179, new cart from Ebay 140. Every component was like new… not a sign of use on any of it. The Cheap Audioman on YouTube is a great source of info. UPDATE: Tried many preamps... Fosi Box 2 and 4... I didnt like either. Pro-Ject Phono Box... same. Dull lifeless. Hit something really good and low budget with the ART DJ Pre II though. Big upgrade in sound and really liked the gain and capacitance control. Play with that one because you can dial it in. BUT... Ive settled on the iFi Zen Phono. Head and shoulders above those others. Yes, a lot more money... 3x the ART. It really offers a totally different and superior sound output. If you have the money or can save up... I found the iFi Zen to be very, very worth it. On a budget? Cant beat that ART if you ask me.

I highly recommend this turntable to anyone looking for for a quality new turntable in the 300.00 price range. Be sure to purchase a digital scale for setting the tonearm weight, a vinyl cleaning kit, and a preamp if your receiver/powered speakers dont have phono inputs. Dont forget to read the instructions carefully. Dont panic when you turn it on and the platter doesnt move. The table ships with auto stop turned on. The platter wont start until the tone arm is over the record.

First, this is a beautiful turntable in both sound and looks. It took a bit to put it all together correctly, but the directions were easy to follow. My problem is that I believed I was getting an automatic turntable where the arm actually returned to the resting stand once the record was done playing. Instead, the turntable just stops at the end of the record and stays on the stopped record, I cant imagine this is good for the needle and the description of AutoStop is a bit misleading. It is better than having the record continuously spin at the end, but not as good as when the needle comes off the record and returns to its resting stand. Id return it, but to take it all apart, try and get everything back into the box would be a huge hassle so I guess Ill learn to live with it. Just beware is all Im saying if youre looking for that fully automatic return feature.

My husband requested this phonograph and he is extremely happy with it. The sound is wonderful and clear and he can play his old albums.

Noticeable upgrade from the RT81 model. Bamboo looks sleek. My setup uses a bellari preamp, Sony receiver, and passive Sony bookshelf speakers. Recommend adding in a record weight for stability and added audio improvement. Make sure to grab a vinyl record cleaning kit. The Ortofon stylus on this turntable is great at picking up the slightest amount of dust on a record.

First off, Ive wanted desperately to love Fluance. Really. Ive tried to. I scraped together (and sold some stuff) so I could have a decent turntable. I studied up on dozens of different tables but this one continued to come up as the best bang for the buck. So I finally ordered it. When it arrived I set it all up and started it in. But the wow and flutter were out of control. I boxed it up and sent it back for a replacement and the people in customer service were great. This was in August. I got the new one, set it up and have enjoyed it. I bought some AI60s to match and have had all sorts of issues with them and the customer service was weeks at a time in responding. I decided to just eat the cost and enjoy them for what they are. One day Ill sell them and get something I like. By the time anyone actually responded my trial period was done anyway. So that sucks. Now my turntable is having issues with 45RPM. If the autostop is on, it slows WAY down the last 3 or 4 seconds. There are a few 45s it DOESNT do this on but it does it on most. It does NOT do this when the autostop is off. I bought this because it had an autostop feature. So there is obviously something defective on it. But, even after sending a video of the exact same record showing that it slows down on one setting and not the other they responded that it was an issue with my records. Seriously. This was well after a week of sending the email. I realize we are in a pandemic and things are slowed down a bit but this was an issue I had in January so thats not the problem. The problem is they dont care. And their products are amazing until they are not. And then you wont get any help. So, even though Ive given them multiple chances (and hundreds of dollars...dammit why didnt I go for Technics and Klipsch????!!!) Ill write these guys off for good. Unfortunately Im stuck since I cant afford to replace all this stuff :(

I didn’t realize all of the assembly necessary, I’ve never bought a turntable new before. But, with a bit of frustration, once I rechecked everything, including the gear cap for the belt, and put that in properly, the turntable worked silently like a charm! Cute little button level to precisely level the turntable for optimum sound. Wonderful for that pure analogue vinyl sound! Very happy with this purchase!
