> 3 dayThis does a lot of things great. Great instructions, comprehensive packaging, sounds great in the best case scenario. However, they went cheap on the stylus. Once u get to the last one or two songs on the record, it struggles mightily on tracking - including new records. The stylus is cleaned regularly and routinely underperforms on the last couple songs resulting in heavy distortion. This would be a 5 star product if they instead included the OM20. You’re better off getting a $100 turntable with a $200 stylus.

> 3 dayThis is a great starter record player. I did a lot of research on it. I had to watch some videos though and carefully read the directions to setup the arm counter weight just right so it would play like it should. Sounds great hooked up to my AV receiver which has a phono input.

> 3 dayIf you are looking to upgrade from a cheap, full auto turntable or are looking to dip your toes into the hifi hobby, this is the one to get. It is a basic no nonsense turntable that plays records and plays them well. When comparing this to the U-Turn Orbit this one is the clear winner. It has a better tone arm, a better cartridge, replaceable headshlell and in my opinion just looks better. I prefer the retro vibe of this thing to the more contemporary design of the U-Turn orbit. The only reason I could see getting the U-Turn over this is the fact that they are mostly hand built by mostly American parts in America. If that is your thing then go for the U-Turn but otherwise this Fluance is clearly the better value.

> 3 dayFluance does NOT pay for the expensive return shipping for this heavy item. And youre gonna want to return it. This turntable has one thing going for it- the aesthetic. And thats how I got suckered. Even the fancy needle cant redeem the shoddy quality of the device. Theres no automatic loading arm and putting the needle on the record manually with the shoddy plastics that make up the smaller parts proves precarious and could easily damage the fancy needle. The external pre-amp setup was enticing for an audio nerd like me who craves pristine sound without electrical interference. Like the well-reviewed OM10 needle cartridge, its more sucker-bait. Fluance doesnt even provide all the required RCA cables and they dont warn you ahead of time. So imagine my experience gifting this to father and setting it up together only to find Fluance doesnt give you all the parts to make it work. I bought matching Fluance speakers and their preamp thinking it would reduce compatibility issues. Speakers didnt even work. And now I have to pay a small fortune to return ALL of it. Save yourself the anger, disappointment, time and money. Dont buy this record player. Looks cool/piece of crap

> 3 dayI replaced a Philips 777 using an Ortofon 15XE MK2 with this turntable. I am using an ART DJ Pre 2, an Alesis RA 300, a DBX 1231 EQ, a Mackie DFX 12 mixer and Klipsch studio monitors. I was concerned that the OM 10 would not perform as well as my previous cartridge. This was not the case, as the OM10 blew my away with its performance. Balancing the tone arm is a little tricky but I have done this before so it was not too bad. Read the manual !! The other thing that I had to a little searching for was the input capacitance. This cartridge is 100pf and you need to set your pre-amp for this. If you dont, it adversely affects the sound. This is a great turntable and cartridge and was well worth the money. It is fully manual with no automatic features.

> 3 dayIt was either this or the 400$ ATH LP120X and I gotta say, not only is it a hundred bucks cheaper, the build quality and componentry are also so much better. Comes with an inuitive system for weighing the tone arm and levelling the table, and the sound quality is superb. Sounds as good as it looks.

> 3 dayI bought this a couple years ago. It is a good record player. Sounds great and meets expectations for the price. However...something recently happened where the arm moved over and turned on the player. My cat may have jumped on the turntable to cause that to happen. Anyway, the turntable probably was running continuously for a week, so the motor burned up. 100% my fault because I should have turned the turntable off, which it allows you to do. However, I am a product of the 70s where turntables did not have that feature, so why would I do that? Now to my point: I called Fluance customer support to try and figure out how to replace the motor. They asked me to send them a recording of how the motor sounded, so I was encouraged that they were interested in helping me. Afterwards they went dark. I followed up via email 3 times, no response, so I called them. The guy who answered said, sorry, cant do anything for you. I asked if they knew of a source where I could purchase the motor. The guy said, sorry, cant help you...So anyway, the motor that is in the unit is very hard to find. I was pretty much out $300. Again, my fault for not turning off the unit, which I now know to do. So the moral of the story, you can buy this, it is a nice sounding player, but if you have to deal with any customer support issues with Fluance, well their name should really be flatulent.
