Great game. My 5 and 7 year old can both play and enjoy it. Its short, and fun for all ages.

We bought this to play with our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter, we all love it. She was able to grasp the concept quickly and she loves it so much we are wearing out the cards! The cards are good quality but any cards will wear out given enough play. We will be buying a second set so she can have one at home.

I think we have played a thousand rounds of Rat a Tat Cat since Christmas day. This is a wonderful game. It challenges everyone (you need to remember your cards and the other players if you want to be aggressive) and the rounds are so quick which is perfect for a busy family. My daughters (5 1/2 and 3 1/2) beg to play Rat a Tat Cat all the time. The 3 1/2 year old needs help, but it is just great! I dislike many early games for look for strategy and challenge, but I can play this over and over again!

We discovered this game at a vacation home that we rented for the week recently - and once we got started, we had a hard time putting it down. We played 6 or 7 rounds at a sitting, my wife my child (5) and I. My 5 year old had no trouble at all picking up on the rules, but she can be bit more game-seasoned than other kids her age - so maybe the age 6 recommendation is appropriate.

This game is a ton of fun for adults and kids. Perfect balance of strategy and chance. Individual hands take only minutes, but keep a running score to make it take as long as you want. I would highly suggest that you try playing with the simpler rules where you have 2 of your 4 cards exposed. Why? Well it easier for the kids and, ahem, the adults to remember their 4 cards as they eventually see them. Even better is that since the hand can be ended at any time, seeing 2 of someones cards gives you the strategy of trying to really stick it to someone if they have two 9s and are in the lead (you want a low score) even if your own score isnt super-low. Also, we allow the swap card to have no rules: any of your cards for any of theirs and its fun handing someone a 9 for their 0 or a card you havent even gotten to see yet for a 2 only to see you gave your opponent a zero later. Cards are cute and seem well made after moderate use. This game would be fun for adults too if you like playing rummy, hearts, pitch which it feels somewhat similar to.

My 5-year-old loves it and asks me to play it every day, several times a day. Its a quick and dynamic game that you can squeeze in any time. It didnt take long to learn to play it. Highly recommended!

This game is great and I highly recommend it. The pictures are cute, requires some strategy and concentration but is still fun. Played by a group ranging in age from 8 to 63 and we all liked it.
