> 24 hourI had 2 big black stains in the areas shown above. I did not even have to pre scrub. The carpet cleaner took care of it beautifully. Am very very happy with my purchase. Also didnt break the bank to buy it. 100% recommend

> 24 hourOverall, Im pleased with this Hoover carpet cleaner. We have several large area rugs in our newly built home that havent been cleaned (only vacuumed) since we moved in 18 months ago. We were thinking about getting a professional rug cleaner to do the job, but saw that this carpet cleaner would cost less than a one time cleaning by a professional. The reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. Unpacking and assembly was very easy. No tools required. The quick use guide was good if youre the kind of person that doesnt want to take the time to read the entire manual. The manual itself goes into just the right amount of detail to tell you everything you need to know. The machine is very easy to use. Just put warm water into the tank up to the first fill line. Then add the cleaning formula up to the second fill line. The two fill lines take the guess work out of how much formula to use (as long as youre using the correct formula for the machine). Dumping the waste water is easy... just squeeze the handle on top, lift out, dump and reinsert. The machine is very light and easy to handle. Its a very easy machine to use. As far as cleaning, the machine does a pretty good job cleaning my rugs. The waste water was a very dark brown, so it definitely sucked a lot of dirt out. Visually, it was apparent that our rugs looked much cleaner after cleaning them with this machine. So, I am pleased with the result. Especially considering that this machine only cost us $99.00. There were a few spots on our rugs the machine did not get up. So I used my Bissell spot cleaning machine to get those out. Some dirty spots just require a little more muscle and time. One cleaning note - the warm water, formula and scrubbing this machine does will definitely loosen the dirt. But if you rush going back over the carpet to suck out the dirty water, the results wont be as good. I found that a couple of extra passes over the carpet with just the suction on to suck out all the dirty water possible will bring better results. Does this machine clean as well as a professional cleaning? Probably not, especially on deep rugs and carpet. But I dont believe there is much difference between the effectiveness of the two options. If youre willing to purchase this thing and do the work yourself as opposed to using a professional, youll save a lot of money. The question now is, how long will this machine last? Some of the reviews indicate it could die within a year or two. I guess it depends partly on how often you use it. But if I get two years out it, it will be worth the purchase. What would I change about this little rug cleaner? First of all, I wish the electrical cord was longer, but its not a big deal. Second, I wish the two tanks held more water. You have to empty the waste tank and refill the clean water tank often. To clean 5 large rugs and 4 smaller rugs in my home, I refilled the clean water tank a dozen times. I dumped the waster water tank 7 times. Its a bit aggravating to have to refill and dump so many items. But I guess its a trade off to make the machine lighter and easier to handle. I only found one problem with the machine. The machine is designed to stop vacuuming whenever the waste tank is full. There is a full tank line on the waste container. The problem is that the machine stops vacuuming before the full tank line is reached. It took me a little time to figure out what the heck was going on when it stopped vacuuming. Once you know it will stop vacuuming a little short of the line, its not a big deal. But I want to mention it in case those reading this review experienced the same problem. So, I do recommend this machine. Its does a nice job cleaning carpet and rugs. It will save you money if youre willing to do the work yourself.

> 24 hourI have a lot of old terrible carpet that Ive struggled to keep clean. This finally got up crap that was so deep I thought it was part of the carpet now. Maybe Im not going over it enough but it doesnt seem to fully dry. Still though, it gets the job done.

> 24 hourLight weight and cleaned both a thick carpet and a thin one. The carpet dried in the same amount of time as a over $300.00 model.

> 24 hourI finally got it out of the box and put it to work. I am extremely happy with the results. It was so easy to assemble, fill the tank and get started. The area I cleaned had a lot of small stains, mostly food and grease. They all disappeared like magic! I went over the area slowly a few times, emptied the tank, filled the tank with clean warm water and rinsed. Then I used the suction and dry setting (just releasing the push button) a few times, slowly, so I could dry it as much as possible. Now Im ready to tackle the next area. The reviews that state it doesnt dry are disappointing. It is only supposed to pull out as much liquid as possible, then you leave it to dry. When you have a commercial carpet cleaner clean your carpets, they want you to stay off of it for hours while it dries. Here is what Hoover says about the Heatforce feature: The HeatForce™ feature blows air underneath the unit to improve carpet drying times. The temperature of the air may vary due to a variety of factors, but the movement of air underneath the cleaner will assist with drying your carpets. (So it really is just helping with air circulation -- probably the level of heat produced by the motor. It is not a hair dryer). This is not meant to be a heavy-duty, room carpet cleaner. It is for pet messes, high traffic areas, and small spaces. In other words, a spot cleaner. The full tank of water with the recommended amount of shampoo cleaned an area about of about 50 square feet before the tank was empty. If you want to clean your entire room carpet, get a product intended for that purpose. I HIGHLY recommend this one for its intended purpose.

> 24 hourI wasnt expecting much, but this little cleaner has good power. We have pets at home, and this does a great job collecting so much fur from our rugs. We also have a couple aquariums at home, and twice Ive used this to gather up water after a leak. I just wish there was a way to lift up the brush panel so that I can clean out the nasty fur thats collected on it, but thats my only gripe.
