We loved this cleaner. It fit our needs perfectly cleaning up after 3 cats, which if you know you know they like to use carpet for certain things. We have limited rugs in our house, but used this several times a month. Beat bending over and scrubbing, stored nicely in closet. However, it was hard to clean. The nozzles had build up and getting them out could have been easier. The brush roll area was accessible but not easy to wipe out, so disassembling and cleaning was the only route. Unfortunately, the motor bearing failed a short time later. It had been making a shrill noise for a while, and I guess it eventually let go. The motor end gets wet from water mist from the tank, and I would guess it gets into the bearing. This is understandable, but we would have liked it to last longer, 2.5 years seems short (purchased Nov 2020, died June 3 23)

I dont have a long history with wet vacs for comparison. And I had hoped to find a handheld cat barf cleaner, which is a common occurrence around my house of three cats, 2 are seniors. Plus I have a toddler, need I say more? But after reading many reviews, I opted for this unit instead of a handheld. I put off putting it together for a week thinking it would be a pain in the butt to assemble, despite reviews saying that it was easy. That was a mistake in and of itself, as it is *extraordinarily* easy to put together and can be done and ready to use in 5 minutes or less. No tools required, no points of frustration. Because I put off putting it together, I had a couple of spots of cat barf sitting on my brand new carpet. I had spot treated them, but now the carpet was crispy where I had cleaned them manually. My eldest cat threw up again and I thought enough is enough, I need to put this thing together. I retreated the old spots and got them wet again with some vinegar and water. I cleaned up the old and new spots and confirmed with a black light flashlight that they were 100% clean. Let me repeat that, 100% clean! And the old spots were soft again once the carpet dried. This thing is saving my new carpet. Im about to sell my house so its critical that I have perfect carpet, as I spent good money to get good thick carpet and padding (before I knew I was selling). Could you clean your whole room? Oh yeah, definitely. You might have to refill the tank, but they built it in such a way its so easy to refill, AND8 clean, It would be no trouble at all to clean an entire room. It has separate clean and dirty water tanks. And you need very little concentrated cleaning fluid for the soap to water ratio. So even the sample that comes with it is enough to last a while, even though I went ahead and purchased a large container from the get-go. It will probably last me a lifetime. I almost wish my cats would pee on the carpet so I can test that, but lets not get crazy here. I do believe that this unit would clean up cat urine completely though. Its so thorough! You cant get your carpet clean without good suction, and this sucker has GREAT suction. The carpet is almost dry when the job is complete. And the carpet is completely dry within an hour, leaving it soft and like new again. I cant speak to it cleaning stairs, as I dont have any stairs in my home. I can imagine it might be a bit of a pain. But I think that stairs are going to be a pain no matter what unit you use. Theres no handheld attached, If thats something youre looking for. But it was excellent at cleaning right against the wall too. I was thinking about paying the super big bucks to get wood floors throughout my new home thats being built, for the sole reason that my senior cats throw up. Having this unit buys me peace of mind that I can get carpet in my bedrooms, which I prefer. This little lightweight unit will save me at least $10k, by opting for carpet in my bedrooms instead of wood, and having the peace of mind that I can clean any mess. Can you tell I love this unit yet? You will too. I havent had it long enough to speak to longevity. But it seems like a solid unit. I personally think the price point is appropriate too.

Weve got white carpeting in our living/dining area and upstairs in the hallway and master bedroom. The carpet was not new when we bought the house, but had been cleaned, and looked great. We moved in with our three dogs and our two cats, and somehow, we havent figured out what caused it, the carpet began to get a bit dirty, especially in areas where our biggest dog (Zeus, an 85 pound teddy bear) prefers to sleep. Then, a few months ago, my elderly mother moved in with us, and she has two small dogs who decided to come along for the ride. One of those two dogs (Katie, a Feist dog who looks like a tiny deer more than anything else,) isnt housebroken. Is. Not. Housebroke. Not at all. Not even a little bit. She *was* housebroken at my moms house, before Mom moved in with us, but Katie is a shelter dog, and we dont know if she was abused or just severely neglected before the shelter got her, but timid doesnt even begin to describe this dog. Shes not afraid of *us* anymore, and gets along great with the other dogs, but fear is her steadfast companion, and for whatever reason, she has decided that one thing to be afraid of is the very idea of going outside without my mom. The people who owned this house before we did also had a small dog. I dont know how well housebroken that dog was, but, I used to work for a carpet cleaning company, and one thing I learned there is about wicking. What can happen is, lets say that your dog--or our Katie--pees on the carpet and happens to pee where some other dog once peed on the carpet too. Not only can Katie leave a stain, but, the moisture can actually cause the stain from the *old* pee to get wicked back up to the surface, just the same way that oil is wicked up in a lantern to burn by the .... well, by the wick. So apparently Katie is pretty good at finding old pee stains because very often, where she chooses to pee we not only get her new pee stain, but another stain as well, with brown edges. Nice, right? Our white carpet quickly became white, yellow, brown, and ugh, colors. And yes, in this case, ugh is a color. I was desperate. We cant afford new carpet and no one in their right mind would buy new carpet before the final dog was housebroken anyway, but if anyone had come over to visit with the carpet looking like this... okay, I was about to say I would have died of embarrassment but that would be overstating my degree of concern about what other people think by about a million degrees. Still, were pretty fond of this house (a mid century modern) and its looks, and we wouldnt want the carpet to be the thing people remembered the most about the house, especially not when theres a backyard with 5 dogs pooping in it for them to remember instead. (Flies. We have flies. Even though we scoop, we have flies.) Enter this little machine. For the price, I have to tell ya, I wasnt expecting *too* much. Then again, I was expecting *something* or I wouldnt have bought it. What I got was, in fact, a lot more than I was expecting, I can tell you that. I followed the quick start guide and put it together; all very simple. I filled the water tank with water and a little of the detergent that came with it, plugged the machine in, and fired it up, after first tempering my husband and mothers expectations by letting them know that it was possible that it wouldnt do anything except make the wicking problem even worse, and advising them that for that reason, I was going to test just a small area. Listen... well, no, just read. No wicking problem. New stains are gone. Old stains are gone. Does the carpet look brand new again? Well, no. But it looks as good as it does when we moved in here. The machine spits the water into the carpet, rub-a-dub-dubs it however much you want it to, and then when youre ready, it sucks the water back out again, and applies some heat to help start it on its way to getting dry again. Easy as can be. In fact, Im afraid to say this because we ARE talking about housework here but its actually kind of.... well.... fun. I dont SAY that about housework. But the thing is that its not housework I hate. In fact, I *love* housework when its not overly strenuous, doesnt make me sweat, and I can look at what Ive just done and really tell that I DID something, and this machine covers all those points. And for the price? Well. All I can say is that its one of the best purchases Ive ever made, and if you could see my buying-history, and thank god you cant, youd realize what a huge statement that is for me to say. There may be some carpet cleaning jobs it wouldnt be recommended for, but not any carpet cleaning jobs that *I* would ever do. Thats a fact. I love this thing. I love it so much Im going to name it. I just havent chosen the perfect name yet. Im thinking Slosh, though. Even though it doesnt. Slosh, that is. Oh yeah, emptying out the dirty water so that you can put in some nice clean water and clean more carpet is easy as can be, also. And be sure and vacuum first if you have pets. I didnt because I was in such a hurry to try this bad mofo out, and I was rewarded by having the machine spit out a couple of (quite clean!) hairballs while I was doing my test area. So yeah. Vacuum first. Buy this. This is the droid youre looking for.

Put the item together following instructions. Started to test it on one of my carpets.Pushed the trigger and NO water came out.I rechecked everything and tried again with no luck Ive never had a problem with Hoover products until now Very disappointing. Money wasted and now Ill have to rent a carpet cleaner to do my carpets--more money. Cant send it back for a refund because you cant get the handle pole out after it snaps in.Don t waste your money on this one. UPDATE. I was able to return the carpet cleaner after talking with a great customer service employee She told me how to pack it for return. Amazon shipped me a new one in exchange without any problems .I tested the cleaner and it did a great job. Trust customer service to help you through any problems Super service...

Okay so like everyone else I have a dog and dogs have dirty feet. Im currently in a rental with wall to wall carpet. Did I tell you how much I hate wall to wall carpet? So there are definitely spots that need cleaning more frequently than the rest. I have a little green machine from Bissell for accidents but who wants to clean up a walkway or the place where your dog lays all the time with that little thing. Im getting too old to jerk around with those huge rental carpet cleaners and the previous household ones that Ive looked at are also fairly heavy and I dont have space to store them. One day I was wandering through the appliance section in the store and I saw this and was immediately intrigued so I went on Amazon and I read all the reviews. I purchased it and its perfect for what I need. The only reason I didnt give it five stars is because of the plate on the bottom to take the brush out so you can clean all the dog hair out of there. Six screws, come on Hoover you can figure out something better than that. And the screws dont really fit any of my screwdrivers well and Im afraid Im going to strip out the heads of them. The water tanks are small and have to be replenished or dumped out often but its worth it to me for this small machine thats easy to store its light and easy for me to use and I can do those areas of my carpet easily that make me cringe when I have people over without having to rent a big machine.

Light weight and cleaned both a thick carpet and a thin one. The carpet dried in the same amount of time as a over $300.00 model.

I have a low pile rug in my living room and it was impossible to keep it clean. I have one medium hair cat and this rug is her favorite place to hang out. It is a 10 x 12 rug and it was taking me, no lie, over 2 hours to vacuum or clean and it still looked awful. I decided to try to get a shampooer especially designed for removing animal hair. This model appealed to me due to it being described as lightweight but still having great suction. That is it in a nutshell. I had a Hoover carpet cleaner for 20 years and it worked great, my only quibble was the weight, had to be over 20 pounds so my carpets werent cleaned as much as they should. This machine is perfect for my needs. I would read the other reviews, it works best when you take your time, put down a small area with solution, then SLOWLY go over it to remove all the water. If you sweep like a vacuum, using more speed to vacuum will actually take more time. Assembly takes about 5 minutes tops, and the directions to assemble and use is included and straightforward. A small bottle of cleaning solution is included, probably for three or our tanks. The suction on this small machine is incredible. You could feel the machine almost latch on to the carpet and I felt like the solution was getting deep into the surface and then really getting sucked out. I had high suction only until the supply canister of water/cleaner was just about out. I did no prep work on the carpet so it was absolutely full of cat hair, shredded paper, dirt, etc. Since this was the first time cleaning, I wanted to get it as clean as possible, and I needed a little bit of time to see how to best operate it. An hour later, the rug was shampooed and it took about an hour. The collection pail water was very dark brown, which was gross but not as gross as realizing I was walking on it and my cat was rolling around in it. The price was fantastic well under $100. I would expect it be well over $100. I rent out furnished apartments and Im going to buy at least one more machine to use for my business. Its an excellent investment, particularly if you own an animal or if you rent to individuals who have animals. 5/5 stars:: excellent machine!

Our carpet is over 10+ years old and between kids and pets... well it needed some love. Usually have Stanley steamer do it for us but then we have to vacate house to let the carpets dry properly. Was very skeptical of this product. Happy to say Im sold! Works great! Brought my carpet back to new! Was able to do it in sections to work around traffic to allow drying. Drying time seemed less as well. Definitely recommend and would purchase again. Economical as well. About 100$ (90 for machine 20 for solution)cleaned my whole house and still have solution left over!

I ended up having to return it because I ordered the wrong one, but theres absolutely nothing wrong with the pet+ version at all. It worked really well! I look forward to receiving the version with the hose attachment.

I have a lot of old terrible carpet that Ive struggled to keep clean. This finally got up crap that was so deep I thought it was part of the carpet now. Maybe Im not going over it enough but it doesnt seem to fully dry. Still though, it gets the job done.
