I received this on Christmas and on January 7th the side brush stopped spinning, I am so bummed! I took it apart and found some debris but I didnt think it was enough to cause a malfunction. Upon further research it looks like the side brush motor has already burned out and needs replacing.

We have a cat that sheds a lot and we bought this to try and help keep the amount of dust bunnies under control. Our home is mostly laminate flooring with occasional area rugs. It does well for the most part, but the area rugs still need traditional vacuuming every two weeks or so. Cons: This robot vac is LOUD and not very bright. It will get stuck going in circles frequently and is not very good at navigating obstacles. Pros: Wi-Fi capable. Can vacuum under my couch where the cat likes to hide. Makes it so I dont have to manually vacuum multiple times a week. Not the worst robot vacuum, but not the best either.

It does a terrific job climbing up on to my rugs from the hardwood, and over bits of trim between rooms. It manages the cat fur tumbleweeds all over my house. It avoids falling down the stairs every time. I have about 800 square feet on my main floor, and the robot gets that job tackled in about 70 minutes. About one out of a dozen times it will get hung up on my pedestal style dining table. It goes up the pedestal foot like a ramp, it’s wheels come off the floor and it hangs there helpless. Then it calls me for help. No big. I wish it had a lower profile so it could clean under my couch. That feels like a couch problem though, not a robot problem. I occasionally wish I’d splurged on a model with mapping so I could ask it to clean a specific room while I’m not in it. That sounds like a me problem though, not a robot problem. A lot of reviews complain about things that I feel are lack of maintenance. Low suction- replace the filter. Not picking up hair any more- clean or replace the brush. The spinny bit that cleans along the baseboard isn’t spinning- take it off and clean it. Not charging- clean the contacts. The parts are cheap. The maintenance is easy. Take care of your Roomba and it will take care of you.

Bought this older model Roomba as a discount/used open box. Great deal. Box arrived and was packaged as new- but no documentation. Not a big deal, just googled it. Machine was clean. Not marks and not dirty. Took a charge and has been working well.

I had been reluctant to get one of these but I admit I am impressed with the quality and function of the Rumba. I have mainly carpet in my home and this will not totally replace using my manual deep cleaning vac The Rumba does a great job picking up loose surface type dirt and the only thing I have to do is use the app to start it. It would be perfect for hard flooring. It goes everywhere and does well at edge cleaning. It also can do scheduling ( how often and when to an area), generate a report for each vacuuming session and other functions. I clean mine after each session to keep it in good shape. It is very easy to clean and the brushes and filter need to be replaced occasionally but there is an internal log for that too. All in all it does a great job saves me from having to do it so often.

Good for the price, but cant direct it. Just started having issues not staying or connecting to the charging base.

A bit of context. Ive owned 3 different Neato Robotics models for over 6 years and had a brief flirtation with Eufy RoboVac 11. I stopped buying from Neato because theyre incapable of building one that can take a 5 day per week schedule for more than 2 years before failure. The Eufy seemed like a cheap toy, lacking important features and destined to fail. I returned it after running it twice. The Roomba 692 is every bit as stupid as the Eufy. It uses the same random bounce method of navigation where it staggers about like a drunken sailor bouncing off obstacles and getting stuck in the same places over and over until you physically block access or move the bot. It has no barrier system to prevent it from getting into places it shouldnt. It does no mapping of the room and cant be told not to get lost under the bed indefinitely. It flatly refuses to vacuum our area rugs. The rugs are a light gray on a dark brown floor and they trigger the drop sensors causing the bot to avoid them. If you block off everything but the main living space it will do a halfway decent job. My wife hates the pieces of wood I use to prevent it from going to areas it cant navigate. If the bedroom doors are left open it will invariably run out of battery before it locates the base again. This leads to really annoying games of hide and seek with a dead bot that cant play the find me sound anymore. Where did it get lost this time? Under the sofa? Behind the curtains? Under a dresser? Did it lock itself in the closet again? Hey, Roomba! Its 2021, you dont have to stay in the closet anymore! Ive had it for about a week. Im having a tough time deciding if I should just return it and pay the premium for another bot that can navigate properly or just resign myself to the fact that there are no good vacuum bots to be had for $200 or less. Prime Day saving brought this down to that point. But I really dont want to spend a lot of my time babysitting a hopelessly brain-dead bot.

The Roomba picks up dust, hair, small areas of dirt and is quite effective. It stops itself at a set of stairs and properly turns itself around to finish the area that its working. I like how when it is finished, it goes back to the charging base.....and if its running out of power, it goes to the charging base as well. Easy to empty the pouch where the dust collects. Works really well and is fun to use. Can also be controlled on your phone through the Roomba app.

As you can see from the pictures I have iRobots literally littering my house. When they work they are decent. When they dont you may as well toss them. Support is nearly non-existent. They put you through what I like to refer to as a support beatdown where they wear you down over the course of days at hours a time up to a point you dont care if it works or not. My wife and I are both Technical Architects each with 20-plus years in IT. I think we know how to add a device to wifi. When we tell them we have 4 different networks we have tried and have reset the vacuum 20 plus times and it wont connect and it has been connected how can it be a problem with our very well thought out and deployed system which has access points in every room, non-hybrid, but actually an access point for each band on separate VLANs with distinct SSIDs. Foolishness. Then when you get done with a 2 hour support call where they confirm everything you already told them then they ghost you for a week or more with no calls, emails or inkling that they even care about you as a customer. Did I mention I also have the mop? The lid broke on that in a week and wont latch down, so I have duct tape holding that together. Looks sweet for the 300 bucks I dropped. You think when you have a track record of investing thousands of dollars in a companys products they would have a minimal care in the world. Trust me iRobot does not care about its customers. They clain to have all the highest end cool features like the app quality and obstacle avoidance but does any of that make the least bit of difference if the machine wont add to the app you use to control it by? I bought a OKP vacuum on Amazon here since iRobot wont support their products for about 100 dollars and the thing was set up and working in 5 minutes and hasnt skipped a beat. Save yourself a complete nightmare and buy something that either works and doesnt require support or has support that actually cares.

My girlfriend has one of these from a different brand and I saw how good a job it does keeping her floors clean, so I decided to pick one up for myself. Roomba was really easy to set up and get cleaning—it paired with my phone without any trouble (unlike some smarthome devices Ive used) and connected to Alexa easily too. When I first ran it it had some trouble because it sucked up some Christmas ornament hangers, but it was very easy to remove the roller and clear the jam; since then its worked great. I think mine does a better job with obstacles than my girlfriends does, since it only seems to get stuck on the stands for my guitars and the heating vents in the floor. This one doesnt have any fancy floor-mapping, so I cant really complain about its routing, but it seems to cover the whole apartment without any trouble on one charge (about 90 minutes). At first it had difficulty getting back home but for whatever reason its gotten better at that lately—maybe there is some kind of mapping or homing function? In any case its doing a great job keeping my floors clear of dust and dirt, even in high-traffic areas like the kitchen. I bought mine at a substantial discount—these things go on sale all the time, I presume to clear out overstock since they release new ones at a good clip—and it was definitely worth the $180 I paid for it.
