Klein Tools CL800 Digital Clamp Meter, Autoranging TRMS, AC/DC Volt/Current, LoZ, Continuity, Frequency, Capacitance, NCVT, Temp, More 1000V

Im not the typical reviewer that buys an expensive meter to test a single outlet and put it away for a few years. I work in apartment maintenance so I need a rugged tester thats versatile without blowing my pockets out. I need to be able to safely test indoor voltages to HVAC to high voltage and low voltage.

this is an awsome meter for the money! Got the one that dose it all! The mount for the negative prob for test voltage line to ground is so convenient love it! I bout this for testing voltage and capacitors for well pumps! Works great! Very happy with it! Feels real solid and heavy duty! Nice large case too so you can store extra probs!

Muy buena calidad en los materiales pero un poco incómodo al momento de elegir un rango de medida. Quería uno que lo tuviera todo y este lo tiene, pero creo que un poco incómodo utilizar por los rangos de medidas.

The CL800 has the feel and weight of a professional tool. I have a large solar battery bank and this tool fit the need for measuring: the DC current to and from the batteries, the solar array, the inverter/chargers, and the genset. I feel that the tool is fairly priced for the consumer market, but is durable for more than average occasional use. The voltage meter and temperature meters are a plus of course, but I will use this tool along with the Klein MM800 multimeter.

The Amazon description specs say Origin: USA, but my just received Klein CL800 Clap meter says Made in China on the package... on the back... at the bottom... in 4 pt text. Too bad, I know which is correct. Somewhere in Klein literature it says its high-end multimeters are made in the US. I guess this CL800 is not high-end or that product promise is just antiquated. Hopes for Made in USA dashed again! :-))

Great meter. Sturdy construction. Bright clear display. Accurate measurements, easy to use. I have used most of the top brands and I think the Klein is as good as any meter out there and at a much better price. Shipped fast. Great experience. Id buy it again.

lack of wire piercing probes is a minus in my opinion.

When you look directly at the screen you can not read the numbers very clear. The instrument must have an angle and when you put it in voltage detection it has no audible warning only a red flashlight

DO NOT BUY. Biggest piece of unreliable junk I ever spent money on. Less than 4 months old and it already stopped working. Not only do I now own a Klein paper weight. But it’s “outside the return window” so I can’t even get my money back for this POS. No function what so ever. Doesn’t even turn on. Worked yesterday and today nothing. Do your self a favor and just buy a fluke. By the way. Flukes are cheaper on flukes website than they are on Amazon. And you usually get a discount code for anything over $100.
