TLDR: Love it IQ is amazing (Coming from an Acer Predator which some would argue has one of the better IPS panels available) hoping 21:9 becomes more widely accepted in games. I came form 2 27 monitors and def. prefer this. Wish USB Hub was on the side NOT the back but otherwise very happy with this purchase. Also wish this has at least a built in speaker but thats just a nitpick at this point. If you are looking at this monitor as a potential purchase, just do it and if you are on the fence about curved monitors hop off the fence and join in, I think it actually adds to immersion plus can save some space. Coming from a 27 Acer Predator XB271HU IPS monitor I was worried because I always thought the predator had one of the best looking IPS panels Ive seen and this is my first curved monitor. Image: For Gaming: Awesome Image Quality and color representation and contrast however be prepared for a lot of games not FULLY supporting 21:9. Most game menus and or cinematics will play with black boxes on the sides but this hopefully will change as this aspect ratio becomes more prevalent. Lastly even without overclocking this screen I have no ghosting. For Movies/Video: Again same issue as most content providers like Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. dont natively support 21:9 so you will have some black bars however you can use some browser addons such as Ultrawidify which will stretch the image to fit without cropping and to me it does not look bad.. HDR: Meh Windows HDR sucks, some games suppport it but most of the time with a few exceptions its not worth it and looks better without it turned on Build: I love the look and build quality looks solid but I gotta say the stand it comes with kinda sucks I thought the predator stand was much nicer. Up/Down Tilt Down (A little) Tilt Up (A Lot) it seems to tilt up a LOT further than it will tilt down which kind of sucks because it is sitting on a table higher than my but no biggie. Lastly and most importantly the USB hub on this doesnt seem very well thought out at least to me. I preferred my predator where it had the USB hub inputs on the left side. This monitor they are located on the back right by the video inputs and its much more of a hassle to quickly plug in/out something.

Once calibrated to your particular aesthetic standards, the monitor looks incredible. Games feel so much more immersive with this ultrawide, curved monitor. Images look crisp, clear, and vivid, so much so that during gaming sessions I will spend time just observing the scenery and taking in the environment. There is even a setting to calibrate the darkness of the monitor specifically for shadow quality, which makes horror games more frightening and the overall density and quality of shadows much more realistic. Everything from images to games and movies have more precise and scrupulous detail than my previous ASUS 27 monitor. The stand, however, sucks. I dont care about the absence of swivel ability like others do, but the stand has two legs that protrude too far forward past the monitor. This makes positioning a keyboard and mouse very difficult, such that my keyboard has to be set awkwardly over one of the legs and my mouse hits the other leg occasionally when playing a game. Its more of an annoyance than anything else and since the monitor itself is fantastic, I can put up with it. LG, if youre reading this, please develop a better, more space-saving stand with your next iteration of monitors. Thank you.

I love this monitor especially at paying 300 dollars for it was a steal. My only complaint is the colors/brightness are very weak and hard to calibrate. My 1440 monitor thats 10+ years old has brighter colors and a crisper picture but Id still pick this monitor over it. UPDATE. Absolutely sucks for PS5 and doesnt display properly at all.

This is a computer used for gaming, however I use Excel quite a bit and the extra horizontal room is nice. It works great for any app and more room is always a good thing. I upgraded from an LG 27” 2560 by 1440 whereas this one is 3440 by 1440 so it’s basically not quite 4K but better than 2K. I have several LG products-2 monitors, a 43” 120 MHz 4K TV, and a top load impeller washer. They have a great product and have had a really good experience with all their products. 5 stars all day.

The monitor itself is light for the size in my opinion. I did a desk mount VESA arm and freed the mess of wires under and around the stand. It makes for a cleaner desk and easier access to my 4K HDMI KVM switch. Some issues with resolution settings and mouse control switch between my Crosshair VIII DARK HERO and the other systems. I need to switch the monitor to the display port in order to run full resolution from the DARK HERO and back to HDMI for the other systems in order to keep keyboard and mouse control. Thats not a show stopper though and I halfway expected it. Some minor shadowing near the frame but no bad pixels and great image quality out of the box. I recommend this product.

I’m giving this monitor 4 stars instead of the 5 because it is advertised to run higher refresh rates at 1440p when this is not true when playing on the PS5. I’m sure it runs great on a PC and of course the PS5 is no PC, but there wasn’t anything clear about this issue in the specs when doing my research. I only found out after a very disappointing unboxing and several attempts to figure it out. So if you are on PS5 and looking for that new 120hz capability, look elsewhere. This monitor is not going to cut it.

If youre in doubt at all, check out the review of this screen on RTings. I have two monitors set up, and moving things around on this screen vs. the other is absolutely night and day. LG really nailed it with the LCD pixel color transition math. Many good screens will still show a lot of blur when moving e.g. a window with sharp edges between dark grey and darker grey, but this screen stays super sharp on those same edges. If you like retro-style games with things moving fast in 2D fields, especially emulators playing games that were designed for zero-blur CRT televisions, thats a feature to go for. It turns on quickly, times out to sleep when the DisplayPort source goes to sleep, and you can set it so it has minimal light when in standby. The stand does not swivel, but you can put the screen on top of something like a piece of scrap plywood or posterboard (so the rubber feet dont grip) and that will spin. Honestly though, what you really want to do at this price point is get an articulating desk mount arm and VESA mount the screen. Theres a bit of a reflectivity issue. This screen is a concave reflector lens, with a focal length of about your usual sitting distance. Which sounds great, but it does mean if theres anything bright behind you, or visible reflected in a mirror behind you, this screen has just enough reflectivity that it will sometimes focus a dim blurry image of the light source that fills the entire screen. Ive never had that in a monitor before, not even my previous Asus ROG screen that was the same size and curvature. All navigation is done with a single joystick control, including turning the screen off. (Which does make it a bit difficult to turn the screen off, but I almost never want to do that. It goes to sleep automatically when the attached computer shuts down.) Whats good about the joystick control vs. other brands, is its centrally located right behind a visual feature that makes it really easy to find by touch, and it is FULLY RECESSED. Im glad I bought this screen, but the only reason I had to drop the significant cost is my previous monitor did not have that joystick recessed, and it got broken off while moving the screen around, rendering the still-functioning monitor useless because the menu could no longer be accessed. This joystick is in a place that will not do that! I dont find the menus very intuitive, they are over-stylized and changed navigation paradigms just to be different. Imagine someone took a good Wustoff kitchen knife set, then went to Toys R Us and glued a bunch of plastic toy sword handles on top of the original handles, and fit the knife set back into a bunch of belt and backstrap holsters on a 2-foot tall plastic ninja robot. Thats what using the menu is like on LG gaming screens now. OK, it might appear to people under 12, but all youve done is make everything harder to find, slower to get at, and clunky to use. I wish they would stop it, but hey you dont have to get in the menu very often, so its still a 5-star screen.

I bought this to replace the ultra wide Dell monitor my ex-girlfriend took with her in our recent break up. And unlike my ex-girlfriend, this monitor compliments me. Im not using this for gaming, but I do process RAW photo files and work the most of my day in Microsoft products. For photo editing I think the colors are great, much better than the cheaper Dell my ex had. Before, I needed to use my laptop screen for more true color management, but moving images from my 4K laptop screen to this LG is pretty solid. This monitor can sit high which makes it easy to have it placed behind my laptop screen and sit above it without the need of another stand. It easily tilts and maintains whatever position you put it in. The stand is pretty big so I recommend a deep desk if you plan on using the one that comes with the monitor. To control the monitor, it has a single nub in the middle of the bottom part of the screen and it works pretty well to pop through the settings. Potential issue that was resolved: I use a Dell XPS 15 and at first this monitor wouldnt work properly with my resolution settings. The monitor thought I was outputting at 3840 x 2160 even though I had it set at 3440 x 1440, so it was sandwiching the display with black bars on the top and bottom. After almost tearing my hair out, I found a person online who gave instructions on how to resolve the issue. Display Settings>Select Monitor>Advanced Display Settings>Display Adapter properties for Display 2>List All Modes>3440 by 1440 I had to try a couple different ones before I got the 50 hertz to work properly with the screen. I also posted a picture of the menu I had to get to fix the issue. All in all, I am happy with this purchase and recommend for people who might be thinking of a budget ultrawide for work and photography.

I have now owned both Samsung and LG and I will be honest. Samsung beats LG in the display quality but LG beats Samsung everywhere else. The display quality is not enough to prefer the Samsung over the LG when it comes to other features...This monitor is significantly easier to manager when mounting on a wall or placing on a desk. The LGs OSD is great as well. Navigating is a breeze and unlike the Samsung the LG will switch between active displays without input....I still cannot believe Samsung has this problem...Which was the primary reason I switched to the LG. Working from home and wanting to switch to gaming is a breeze.
