> 3 dayI’m giving this monitor 4 stars instead of the 5 because it is advertised to run higher refresh rates at 1440p when this is not true when playing on the PS5. I’m sure it runs great on a PC and of course the PS5 is no PC, but there wasn’t anything clear about this issue in the specs when doing my research. I only found out after a very disappointing unboxing and several attempts to figure it out. So if you are on PS5 and looking for that new 120hz capability, look elsewhere. This monitor is not going to cut it.

> 3 dayThis is a review for the LG 34GP83A-B. Wow! I am an avid gamer who plays all genres, from fast-paced competitive FPS games, Open world RPGs and real-time strategy games and also watch a lot of videos and movies on my PC. I did a lot of research before choosing this monitor and it did not disappoint. This appears to be the exact same panel as the LG 34GN850 that was released several months prior for $1000 with the only difference being the logo on the back and less cables included in the box. Coming from a 27 Acer Predator IPS, which I believed to be one of the best gaming monitors, This LG UltraGear completely destroys it. The Colors are extremely accurate and the response time, while not a true 1ms GtG, is still faster and smoother than any monitor Ive ever used. The 10-bit panel at 144hz is essential for color accuracy while maintaining butter smooth motion. Overclocking to 160hz lowers the panel to 8-bit, but I cant tell the difference between 144hz and 160hz so I just leave it at 144hz to get the color advantage of a 10-bit panel. My only complaints is that the monitor does not have a dedicated G-Sync module, which I feel like an $800 monitor should have. That being said, it is Gsync Compatible and certified by Nvidia to work with Gsync, and I have had no screen tearing unless the framerate drops below 50fps as the freesync premium only supports a minimum of 48fps. This monitor has HDR10 support and is HDR400 certified but I would have liked the monitor to be brighter. Peak brightness is just over 400 nits, which is plenty bright for most use-cases but for HDR content, 400 nits just isnt quite enough to get an immersive HDR experience. Overall, this is BY FAR the fastest, smoothest and most satisfying gaming monitor Ive ever used. It is worth ever penny at $799 and I would highly recommend it.

> 3 dayReplaced some old 27s with these. Picture and performance are amazing. 10-bit color @ 144hz on both of them. Games are fluid and beautiful. Text and charts are clear and sharp. The wide format gives plenty of space. Two displayPort connects instead of 1DP 2HDMI would be nice, but I knew this going in so no issue. The only true flaw concerns DisplayPort deep sleep mode. Most DP monitors have this but many provide a way to disable it. The lack of this feature causes Windows to think the monitor is gone when it enters deep sleep. On waking up, Windows will arrange ALL of your windows on your main monitor, which is extremely annoying. There are numerous people screaming about this online, but so far LG has done nothing, and it affects most if not all of their DisplayPort monitors. There are also numerous fixes online, none of which work. Summary: absolutely get this monitor if you will only be using one screen, and still get it if you can either deal with not sleeping them, or arranging the windows yourself.

> 3 dayI am coming from a 27” 16x9 Benq gaming monitor and was initially worried about the monitor feeling smaller due to the vertical screen size. Turns out a 35” ultra wide has the exact same vertical screen size as a 27” 16x9, the dimensions I read included the bezel which is smaller on this screen, so I have the same screen height plus a ton of added width. Second I read that the LG doesn’t have very high brightness, but , like with my LG OLED tv, brightness isn’t everything! The picture quality is outstanding and I don’t come even close to max brightness settings on the monitor. I don’t need any more than what it outputs. Third I worried about Gsync, but my computer immediately recognized it and it worked perfectly out of the box with no issues. Finally I was worried about dead pixels or other defects. I have no dead pixels or any other defects, it’s perfect. Super happy so far, will update after I use it for longer. Update 6 months - monitor is beautiful and is working flawlessly. Loving the option to add a ‘crosshair”, works great!

> 3 dayReplaced a 27 inch dell 1440p 144hz monitor as my main monitor. This is definitely a huge upgrade. HDR. higher refresh rate. excellent picture quality. I only have two negative things to say about this monitor. One is the sound quality from the speakers. These sound like how cell phones used to sound about 10 years ago. Relatively tingy and no bass at all. The second thing is the stand. I only seen a few complaints about the stand but if you have a relatively narrow disk like me, this stand will 100% intrude on your keyboard and mouse space. Not a huge deal once you readjust where you use your mouse and keyboard but it is an annoyance.

> 3 dayI normally sit in bed, or on the couch and game on a big screen. Well, I had to make a home office real quick due to covid and just put a small table in front of the living room big screen. Not optimum. While it is 4k, everything had to be so big to be readable. I put up with it as I had no long term need for a home office. Well, now I do, as work will be a mix of onsite/home permanently. This widescreen ticked all the boxes, supports GSYNC, QHD 1440, fast refresh, good reviews, 144hz. I am very happy with this. It is very sharp, with even brightness across the screen, no dead pixels, and good color. So easy on the eyes. I hooked up my work laptop and gaming laptop (16gig 3080 graphics) and just wow. I never realized the eyestrain I put up with using a TV as a work monitor. The range of adjustment up/down and tilt is not much but enough for an average person sitting at a typical height table. It supports VESA 100 so you can use a monitor arm or wall mount for greater adjust-ability if needed. I dont hear any electronics whine, the text is so clear, and Skyrim never looked so good. I am upgrading the textures to 4k and installing my other games to the laptop now (its new too) and as they are modded for eyecandy/4k this monitor does not disappoint. UPDATE: Ive now had this almost a year. Only thing I really needed to do, was get an inexpensive monitor clamp-on-desk stand. Now I have tilt, swivel and height adjustments. 3 days a week, I work 8 hours looking at it and still cant get over how sharp and crisp the text is- edge to edge. No eye strain after a long day, and game away on weekends. So glad I didnt just get a basic monitor for work using the work allowance. This came out of my pocket and I am so glad I didnt cheap out on the monitor.

Greater than one weekContrast and vibrancy is not as good as dell ultrasharp. However it still looks really nice and the price is unbeatable. The height adjustment works out well. I paired it will my 27 inch monitor and they are the same height

> 3 dayJust like you, I was afraid, $800 isnt cheap for me. Some people in the reviews here seem upset specially about dead pixels, but I ended up going with this one monitor (lg 34gp83a-b) because of all the good specs it has on paper. After more than a month of usage I can tell you that Im in love with it. I spend hours daily working with it and its not exhausting at all. The higher refresh rate, curved screen, pixel density and excellent colors make it very comfortable to work with, plus now I have a ton of screen space from which I can just click and drag stuff everywhere, it makes work fun. I didnt go with the Gigabyte M34WQ because I fell in love with curved monitors (later on that monitor reviews I read people complaining on it being exhausting to work on after a while because of the flat screen but I suppose that is a matter of personal taste. I didnt go with the Asus VG34VQL1B because on some reviews I read people complaining about the color smearing which honestly I dont think you would notice unless you were a monitor sommelier. One thing you should know before buying it is that you need a displayport capable computer (make sure your computer and the gpu supports displayport) it has an hdmi port but it is limited to 85hz. Other than that, this is the best monitor right now in its segment. Hope this helps!

> 3 dayMacbook pro 2019/i7 detects and calibrates the monitor at full capability correctly using display port to usb connection. Installation is super simple, just few clicks, no tools needed, height and tilt adjustments works great. Screen looks sharp/crisp for normal web / productivity related use (have not tried gaming to comment on it)
