> 3 dayLG always has been my favorite tv/ monitor company forever and sorry to say but this product fell short from expectations. One of the most important things I check in monitors is if they have a Backlight bleeding. To me this the holy grail of QA for a product like this. If the unit like this one has it so bad, it means that there will be some more issues. Im returning this. I dont remember seeing one so bad since the first flat panel tvs from 2004.

Greater than one weekwhen you install a strong GPU you start thinking about how best to utilize it. do you go 27 inch 4k, or do you go with 1440p ultrawide? obviously, if youre reading this youre seriously considering the latter option. Im running a 3090/10900k/32gb ram rig with this monitor and you can max out rdr2 and reasonably get around 90fps. I personally aim for 60fps in that particular game with upscaling/TSS though. it looks fantastic and the field of view you get from ultrawide gameplay is awesome. just beware that the extra real estate is more taxing on your rig. could be that you have to downgrade your settings to accommodate the width, and I dont personally think itd be worth it unless you can get 60 frames. thats just my opinion. the monitor itself is great, just make sure your rig is up to it for your standards of graphical performance

Greater than one weekI really cant complain with this beast of a monitor. I was running on a 1660 super but sadly this card was not up to this monitor, as I had estimated before purchasing. I have since upgraded to a 3060 ti and everything is running very smooth. This monitor is everything I had hoped for the price and I would recommend to anyone looking for an entry or budget ultrawide monitor. You cant go wrong with LG monitors.

> 3 dayThese monitors seem to have everything one would want. 1440p, high refresh, good response time, a curve (if thats your thing) and nice saturated colors. Yet at a reasonable cost. Im keeping an eye out, deals like this usually dont happen anymore, but Im thrilled with both of these monitors I picked up.

21-12-2024If youre in doubt at all, check out the review of this screen on RTings. I have two monitors set up, and moving things around on this screen vs. the other is absolutely night and day. LG really nailed it with the LCD pixel color transition math. Many good screens will still show a lot of blur when moving e.g. a window with sharp edges between dark grey and darker grey, but this screen stays super sharp on those same edges. If you like retro-style games with things moving fast in 2D fields, especially emulators playing games that were designed for zero-blur CRT televisions, thats a feature to go for. It turns on quickly, times out to sleep when the DisplayPort source goes to sleep, and you can set it so it has minimal light when in standby. The stand does not swivel, but you can put the screen on top of something like a piece of scrap plywood or posterboard (so the rubber feet dont grip) and that will spin. Honestly though, what you really want to do at this price point is get an articulating desk mount arm and VESA mount the screen. Theres a bit of a reflectivity issue. This screen is a concave reflector lens, with a focal length of about your usual sitting distance. Which sounds great, but it does mean if theres anything bright behind you, or visible reflected in a mirror behind you, this screen has just enough reflectivity that it will sometimes focus a dim blurry image of the light source that fills the entire screen. Ive never had that in a monitor before, not even my previous Asus ROG screen that was the same size and curvature. All navigation is done with a single joystick control, including turning the screen off. (Which does make it a bit difficult to turn the screen off, but I almost never want to do that. It goes to sleep automatically when the attached computer shuts down.) Whats good about the joystick control vs. other brands, is its centrally located right behind a visual feature that makes it really easy to find by touch, and it is FULLY RECESSED. Im glad I bought this screen, but the only reason I had to drop the significant cost is my previous monitor did not have that joystick recessed, and it got broken off while moving the screen around, rendering the still-functioning monitor useless because the menu could no longer be accessed. This joystick is in a place that will not do that! I dont find the menus very intuitive, they are over-stylized and changed navigation paradigms just to be different. Imagine someone took a good Wustoff kitchen knife set, then went to Toys R Us and glued a bunch of plastic toy sword handles on top of the original handles, and fit the knife set back into a bunch of belt and backstrap holsters on a 2-foot tall plastic ninja robot. Thats what using the menu is like on LG gaming screens now. OK, it might appear to people under 12, but all youve done is make everything harder to find, slower to get at, and clunky to use. I wish they would stop it, but hey you dont have to get in the menu very often, so its still a 5-star screen.

> 3 dayWell packaged, took it out of the box and plugged it in. Setting up the stand is super easy, no tools needed. Comes with a next gen DP cable (good for you LG). Ran a dead pixel check via lcdtech and had zero. No backlight issues or edge issues. Loaded up, turned G-sync on via the Nvidia control panel, started up ff14 and got that setup. Running at roughly 110-130hz with a 2080TI. G-sync is working flawlessly. Compatible, might as well be native. Not even a 1 frame hiccup. When I say flawless, I mean flawless. Picture/colors is incredible, glad I went with the IPS panel. Will NEVER go back to gaming in 16:9 @60hz without curve. The curve, the ultra wide panel and the 144hz create a whole new experience. The jump reminds me when I went from a mechanical HDD to an M.2. Just unbelievable difference. My wife thought shed hate the curve/UW and I made her sit down and play with it for a bit. She is now trying to get me to spend another $700 lol. Just try it if youre on the fence. Youll never go back.

> 3 dayThe first one right out of the box had a bad Display Port (it only has one). The HDMI port worked perfectly fine BUT as we know you cant take full advantage of this monitor without using the Display Port due to the resolution and refresh rate. I even spent a ton of time troubleshooting it, if you google the issue a bunch of people reported similar issues on other LG monitors (none were reported for this one so its not model specific). There were some fixes like letting the power completely drain overnight but this didnt work for me and I had to begrudgingly return it and wait for another. The cool thing was Amazon didnt allow for an exchange so I had to do a full return and repurchase - but when I did the monitor went on sale so I saved even more money so it all worked out in the end. I had just bought the 850 version of this monitor before I found out this is a clone to it for a few hundred dollars cheaper. I had both side by side and they are identical. Reviews stated that the back of the monitor was different between the two versions and there were reports of different OSD interfaces, as of November 2020 this is no longer the case, the only way you can tell the difference is looking at the sticker that has the model number listed. Oh and the cardboard boxes had slightly different sized text on them and obviously the 850 has a nice cardboard box for the accessories and extra HDMI cables if we really want to get technical... Zero issues with back-lighting. Had to adjust colors a bit so not sure if the 850 has better calibration or if just a fluke. Gsync works great (compatible with Gsync, does not have the chip built in however). Very high quality monitor and surprisingly light but I guess thats how modern screens are. This was significantly lighter than the 27inch it replaced so the articulating monitor arm moves like a dream now. Very happy with the screen, only giving it 4 stars because of the first one being DOA and seemingly something that wouldnt have cropped after it left the factory...

> 3 dayOriginal review: I work from home and use this monitor as my daily driver for work, doing zoom calls, software development, etc. Ive been using this monitor since Aug 2021. After several hours of use I noticed artifacts and ghost images, and the screen even flickers. This is a new issue after a year and a half of using this monitor. For the $839.99 I spent back then I expect more longevity out of this monitor. Ive tried adjusting the refresh rate, contrast settings, and several other settings with no luck. The ghost images from text and camera pictures from zoom calls with peoples faces persist, even if I disconnect my mac and switch to my PC. I downgraded to HDMI for use on a mac and it seems to be working well so far, but Im holding my breath. I also use it for PC gaming using displayport, and thats been a great experience with no ghosting issues, but Im guessing because there is not a lot of static content on the screen in that scenario. UPDATE: LG support was not helpful, they wanted me to spend $400 + shipping to look at my monitor. By pure chance I changed the color profile from the default LG ULTRAGEAR to a custom color profile that looked good to me and this resolved the issue! I no longer have this issue. I like the product but I updated to 3 stars because of the hassle I went through and poor support experience. This issue is resolved on USB-C and HDMI.

> 3 dayThese screens are great, but like all products, they have a limited lifespan. Get the extended warranty so you can enjoy your monitor a lot longer! 12/2020 - 10/2022
