> 3 dayI also have the meross garage control and indoor plugs so I already have the app. I also have WeMo and Wink products. Meross is a better bargain and the apps works better. It does not require a hub and the Alexa integration is good. the app itself is very powerful so if you do not have google assistant or alexa it will still be awesome. I have an android phone so my experience is with the android app. Setup was very easy. All you do is plug in outlet and click the + symbol in the app and it finds the plug and the wizard guides you through everything. If I had it to do all over again I would only buy Meross to save money and so I only need one app. I hope meross makes more outlets and switches and continues to offer them at such reasonable prices

> 3 dayI was getting tired of resetting the outdoor timer for our porch lights to match shifting daylight hours especially fall and spring, not to mention every power outage (frequent for us in winter). I’ve had great success with Meross smart plugs in the past and it had good reviews on tech sites. Unfortunately you can’t really trust Amazon reviews. What can I say? I plugged it in to an easy-access indoor outlet and lamp, scanned the code with my iPhone, labeled it, and it connected to HomeKit. Moved it to the porch lights, created automation to turn on at sunset and turn off later. Now if my kids are out late, I can just override the turn off and leave the lights on until their iPhone is home. I also randomly change smart lights when we travel (we have an AppleTV and a few HomePod minis, any of which give us secure access away from home). Easy to link, easy to use, rugged… I plan to get another next Black Friday week for Christmas lights! Meross is by far the most reliable and easiest brand of smart plugs…and I don’t do a thing after power outages or time changes. Worth every penny!

> 3 dayI was able to configure this quickly and setup a test in my front lawn and back lawn outlets. Both tests show that I can control these easily with the app on my phone. Each outlet can be separately turned off and on using the app or Alexa voice commands.

> 3 daySo, I just got this, then I updated the software and added it into homekit. Then I commanded it to different levels while measuring the voltage. There are a few problems. 1. Commanding it to 0% is the same as commanding it to 1%. Which is to say, it does not turn off, and I think you should expect it too turn off in this case. The measured voltage in that case is still 30V. Thankfully, the light on the controller stays on, so its not actually misleading. 2. You cannot turn it off by pushing the button. At all. You can cycle through various power levels (which is neat) but theres no button combination that results in it being OFF. Or maybe there is and I havent found it. I havent read the directions, but I dont think I should have to read the directions in order to turn an electric power socket / controller with ONE button OFF. Okay, I just found it. You double-press the button for OFF. This is bad design.

> 3 dayMy wife always complains that my outdoor gazebo lights are too bright. But no more with this Meross Smart Dimmer Plug. I had no problem connecting it to my home wifi. Then I used it outdoors first in the front of my home about 10 feet from the wifi and more recently moved it to my gazebo out back about 25 feet from the house. I have no problem controlling the plug or using the dimmer function. I would buy this again, highly recommended!

> 3 dayI set my Eero network temporarily to 2.4 ghz, and the Meross smart dimmer plug installed without any problems. It also connected fine to HomeKit. While the Meross plug didnt connect right away to Alexa, after the 10 minute period where Eero was on the slower 2.4 ghz network, the Meross plug immediately connected to Alexa as soon as Eero was back to 5 ghz. Based on other reviews, I was worried Id have setup problems. But no problems at all. So far all good. I had previously been using a TP-Link Kasa smart dimmer, which was ok but which had no HomeKit support. I need both HomeKit and Alexa support, so thats why I tried the Meross. There is, however, one problem. The Meross will not dim my 5-bulb LED lamp as low as the Kasa dimmer. I updated firmware and ran the compatibly test in the Meross app and set the minimum brightness to 1%. Even at that setting, it is much brighter than the Kasa dimmer at 1%. At the same time, when the Kasa dimmer was set to 1%, the lamp wouldnt turn on, so thats not great either. I had to turn the Kasa dimmer to 10% to get the lamp to turn on, and then dim it down to 1%. But even at 10%, the Kasa dimmer is less bright than the Meross at 1%. So, I am dinging the Meross dimmer 1 point for not being able to dim as low as the Kasa. But, there are very few HomeKit + Alexa compatible smart dimmers that support lamps with a 3-prong plug: Meross and the poorly reviewed and more $$$ Legrand. Lutrons smart dimmer would work except it only handles 2-prong lamps. If you want HomeKit and Alexa integration, and you can accept the limitation of not being able to dim LED bulbs as far down as other dimmers, the Meross is hard to beat, especially for the price.

> 3 dayIt took a bit to get set up. First, I believe it was an error I made. I use a VPN and spent about an hour trying to get the dinner to add to the app. After a bit I realized I had installed the dimmer after I enstalled the other Meeoss switches and outlets t use. Once I disconnected the VPN. Boom. Works like a champ. I have 3 stars to the easy to install as a single sentence turn off VPN prior to trying to connect would have saved a lot of time. Overall it is a good product at a great price. Thanks

> 3 dayThis review is for the 2nd generation of this product, which is smaller and rounded. There appear to be reviews from both generations mixed together. Overall the plug works great as advertised. I used it on some Christmas lights. Its worth noting that the plug covers may not be the nice black ones pictured. The unit I got had the ugly yellow covers that are shown on the HomeKit version. I emailed the manufacture and they said that even if they did replace the unit, there is no way to guarantee I wouldnt get another unit with the same covers. Not a huge deal, but still not quite as advertised.

> 3 dayI’ve had decent experience with Meross products in the past and decided to add this to the household so we could light up our terrace with some LED floods. This works like a charm! It performed admirably in a recent rain storm that lasted three days. Solid construction, easy setup. I’m a fan.
