When the Microsoft Surface Laptop works, it’s a great device. However, I have had hardware issues since I first bought the computer over a year ago. The laptop will regularly fail to recognize any available internet connections, and I have to keep restarting it over and over until it does so. Sometimes I have to restart it upwards of 7 times in a row just to get onto the internet. It’s incredibly frustrating, and I wish I had bought the warranty because of it. I foolishly trusted Microsoft and figured I wouldn’t need the warranty on the Surface.

    Greater than one week

Had the computer for a few months now it wont turn on. Tried every trick there was online and no luck. It took me an hour of repeating the same hard start process over and over till it worked then my little brother showed me how to do disk clean and defrag and hopefully this weekly maintenance will prevent that issue.

Not a surface 3. They sent the original 2017 model.

The screen came cracked but it was the last one, so I kept it. Really wish I didn’t

I got this computer because I was desperate before the pandemic shut us down. Looked good in terms of screen, memory, and all that jazz. After purchase, I got some unpleasant surprises. It has ONE USB port. Even better that its on the left side of the computer. So, if you NEED to use a mouse for editing, or other reasons ... youve got trouble. Im right handed and I have to move the stupid thing around to get the mouse to work. Even worse, I need to save my work on a memory stick often. Cant run a mouse and a memory stick. So you need a hub. WHAT a hassle! Never ever will I buy a Microsoft product again. Anything I buy will need more than ONE USB port. What a joke! Learn from my mistake!

I needed a new laptop for school, but I wanted something that was a little more powerful than a Chromebook. Im used to a MacBook Air, but this transition wasnt difficult. Super easy to set up from the beginning. I love the keyboard backlight and the way that it types. The screen is plenty bright and adjusts well. I cant say much about the speakers for music, but theyve been perfect for listening to lectures. The touch screen is appropriately responsive and accurate. Great storage so far, great accessibility, runs quickly, and is perfect for endless zoom calls. Im glad I got the Surface with the attached keyboard. I was really hesitant about the almost fabric-like texture around the keyboard, but its been a really nice touch. Overall its lightweight, does what it needs to do, and does it all well. Im happy that I splurged a little bit for this one-big fan!

I read the online reviews and looked to see what CNET and PC Mag were saying. The reviews were decent and the price was better than the Surface Pro. Initially I was disappointed by a few things. A year later here are my continued dislikes. I dont like the power cord magnet. It looked like trouble and it just broke after a year. 100 DOLLARS to replace a cord!!!!! Additionally, I dont like the way the keys feel. They are definitely cheap plastic and get stuck sometimes. The battery life is so-so. The touch screen works well. Finally, I find the the computer to be noisy at times, but other people in my family hear that audio and they think it is great. I think the felt key board cover that surrounds the keys is going to look really dirty so I work hard to keep it clean. I think I would spend the extra money for the Surface Pro with a detachable screen.

Biggest waste of money i’ve ever spent. The bluetooth doesn’t even work, any wifi i used didn’t improve the speed. Youtube didn’t work at all on here neither does hulu. Don’t buy this computer it should be around $45. Cheapest thing ive ever bought.
