This vacuum has strong suction and is quiet and light. The hardwood attachment is fairly wide and does a good job on open areas. Its almost too wide for stairs if you are working your way down, but okay if moving up. The turbo carpet cleaner does a decent job, but if you turn the suction all the way up it will dig in making it hard to move back and forth across the carpet. The cord is shorter than what Im used to so I have to unplug it more often. Overall, Im satisfied with this vacuum and plan to keep it since most of my floors are hard wood. If I had a house full of carpet, Id get something with a better carpet cleaner.

I just got this and Im not sure I like it. It works great on hard floors, but on carpet it is very difficult to push. The cleaning power is very good, but you do get a workout when pushing it back and forth. Im 72, I need something easier to push.

I never imagined I would write a glowing review for a vacuum... but I really love this vacuum! It makes vacuuming fun (sort of ;-) ). I bought this to replace a very old upright and thought it would be a difficult transition to canister, but it wasnt at all. This Miel is small, but mighty! Its light weight enough to be able to carry downstairs without much trouble. The adjustable height of the handle is great and its pretty easy to maneuver and clean under furniture without too much effort. The two floor attachments are great to switch between wood and other surfaces. Only two issues... minor challenge in remembering what the weird symbols mean to adjust the suction. And agree with all the other reviews about the short cord! In a larger space, I need to use multiple outlets to clean the whole room. Overall highly recommend!

Our old canister vacuum bit the dust. I researched for the best replacement and decided to buy the Miele Classic C1 Turbo canister vacuum. It weighed about half of what our old vacuum did. It tracks well. When you pull on it, it follows right behind you. I cant say that about our old one. The suction is super. We have hardwood floors throughout of home. The vacuum picks up cat hair and dust like it was nothing. I have carried it up the steps to our second floor and it was easy. The attachments are easy to connect and disconnect. This is one impressive vacuum.

I have owned 3 Miele vacuums. One I had for 12 years and passed down to a friend ( It was still in working order) when I upgraded to the next model. We have another home and now need another vacuum. I Love that they are not heavy and the canister follows easily and pivots effortlessly. If you havent tried a canister vac , you should. It is about 20 lbs so no problem to carry up the staircase. The on/off controls are on the body which makes the handle lighter. Miele is top of the line quality and this is the least expensive model. It works very well for me! The prices go up to 1200.00 so its up to you what you spend but this little workhorse can handle a lot. For @ 400.00 I got a package that included the vacuum and on board furniture and crevice tools hidden in the body. A parquet floor wide head and a smaller wood floor or area rug head. Bonus* they sent over 15 extra vacuum bags and a HEPA filter! The vacuum was protected with the bags so there was no packaging waste. I love that it matches my new kitchen colors!

So I wondered if the short cord people talked about would bother me, since the company says the length of the cord and the hose make it so much longer... well let me say that the cord is WAY TOO SHORT. As you can see in my photo, it doesnt allow me to go across my kitchen floor, which is not very big, and it cant reach all the way up my staircase. As described, the head is definitely not made for shaggy carpets. The roller bar gets bogged down in the higher pile and I actually have to use 2 hands to push it forward. When you lift the head up the motor starts to rev back up to speed, clearly telling me its been bogged down in the higher pile. So if you think it will work on your shaggy carpet, you will be disappointed. I actually plan to use this at another location where there is only low pile carpets. Despite these shortcomings, this vacuum is amazing at sucking up debris, and it maneuvers so easily, and its fabulous on low pile carpet. The tail end that stores the unused head will definitely make doing wood stairs difficult, because Ill need to remove it to stand it up, so it wont roll off the stairs. So... overall.... I think if you live in a small place, like a small apartment, this cord will work for you. Personally I think I will add a short extension cord to the vacuum because I do love the amazing performance and durability the Miele has.

I love this vacuum. It’s very strong but amazingly lightweight. I use it on my hardwood floors and low pile rugs. Because it is light, it’s easy on my wooden stairs as well. My only suggestion would to make the cord a bit longer.

Im a simple man and I appreciate quality. This thing is dripping with quality. Not interested in Dyson because I dont like overpaying for something that looks futuristic but actually isnt. I would rather go for a company that is less widely popular, but has made quality products in the industry for many years. Miele fit this bill and I have no regrets spending the money on it. Ive tried cordless vacuums and cheaper vacuums. Cordless vacuums simply dont do a good enough job to justify having one around. Youre basically leaving 40% of debris behind on whatever youre trying to clean. For the sake of not having a cord. Yuck. Thats not my style at all. When I clean, I want the thing clean. Spent $150 on a cordless which I regret. Ive tried cheaper corded vacuums and although the suction power is decent they all lack something which make them feel like a complete cleaning solution. I should have just foregone all those and bought a Miele right off the bat. Heres why it is amazing and a 5/5 overall: - Suction power is amazing. 1200W motor so there you go. It doesnt play around and it doesnt sound obnoxious either. - The bag system is much preferred. Im so over dumping debris in a garbage can and trying to dodge a cloud of dust. Just take the bag and throw it away. I dont mind paying a little more over a lifetime of use and never having to worry about breathing in all the crap the vacuum just sucked up ever again. - Filtration system is genius. The air feels so clean after vacuuming there you would think you are in a different environment after. - The vacuum is simple yet Im able to clean the whole house effectively with it. A simple swap of the tool head and I can reach all corners of the ceiling. Cobwebs, spider webs, dust, all gone. The wheels keep it maneuverable and allow it to swivel easily. It has a button to retract the cord so you dont have to wind it up after like most vacuums in the $200 range. Not the longest cord ever but its fine and feels sturdy. - Once you are done with it, the vacuum slides into place to become one piece, and tucks into your closet, taking up minimal space. How considerate. Great buy and Im very happy because my living space is fresh and clean!
