Polare Cowhide Leather Multiple Laptop Backpack Day pack Travel Bag Satchel with YKK Metal Zippers

The product is amazing. Great quality and durability. I have now used this bag for almost 3 months. No stitching issues like I have had with other leather bags. The original leather smell that you get when you first open this product is a simple pleasure of life. For those who do not like it, it will go away on its own (Unfortunately). The leather has held up perfectly. Its supple and strong, yet soft and reassuring. I use this as a daily travel bag to and from work as well as everywhere I go due to being the on-call IT person. It holds my 15 inches Microsoft SurfaceBook 2 in a padded sleeve with plenty more room. Along with 2 notebooks, a 46 mousepad that is folded. I have just about any and everything I will need to do my job in this bag. The front pockets have more than enough capacity. One note on the front pockets, if you overfill them, the front security strap will not stay in place easily. Ive listened to people using a variety of products to help with this, from Bees Wax to Saddle Soap. Both seem to work, however, the saddle soap helps keep the leather. I have had no problems with any of the zippers so far. The side bottle holders are good for small objects, but Ive yet to find a useful water bottle to actually fit. I have also had some small problems with the straps loosening while picking up or putting the bag down. AN easy solution for me was to add a simple stitch to the straps right after the metal adjustment clasp. All of this is in reference to the utility of the bag. Im not huge into the aesthetics of things, however, this bag is more than pleasing. I have received multiple positive comments on this bag along with inquiries on where to purchase.

I really like this bag. I carry heavy books and it seems to be holding up very well so far. I like the looks of the bag and the pockets are great. The quality of the leather is very good, its perfect for me.

This thing is tough. Like You could beat a moose to death kind of tough. The leather is thick and I see no flaws. The Zippers are smooth. The shoulder straps are easy to adjust and dont loosen while wearing. Its large enough to hold my huge 15 Zbook laptop with lots of spare room. The side pockets are good for thin water bottles. Its tall and that lets me put a good amount of stuff in it. I like the closures in the outer pockets. Seriously. beat a moose to death tough.. A big moose. UPDATE: Months later and I still love it. I use this every day. On work days it carries my big laptop and my gym clothes and my emergency kit. On non-work days it holds gear for hiking/fishing. TIP 1: The main compartment zipper loosened up and liked to unzip itself. By that I mean if I have the bag full the zipper runs itself back the way it came. Not that the zipper pulls apart. I rubbed some beeswax on the zipper and theres more resistance to pulling now so it stays closed better. TIP 2: The front pocket flaps like to slide out sometimes. Rubbing the beeswax all around the leather strap will keep the pocket closed much better. Issue: Some of the thread wanted to come undone. I superglued the thread and its staying fast. UPDATE-UPDATE:: This bag gets beat up! I use it all the time. I use it to carry my work laptop to and from worth walking half a mile each way to the train station. Its been snowed in, rained in, kicked, scuffed, etc... Yes, it shows wear. The backpack straps at the top have pulled loose from the body a bit. The thread does wear out. Its not a big deal to do minor repairs to keep up a great bag. Its like maintaining a vehicle, if you drive it and never do any maintenance itll die asap. UPDATE-UPDATE-UPDATE: The biggest issue is where the pack meets the shoulder straps. The leather I would call a strong medium-weight. Its not super heavy duty. Its a sturdy bag. Still works well. The zipper end needed to be stitched with heavy thread at the bottom because the zipper would sometimes fall off one side or another when I was opening it all the way. The pockets still hold well. The lining has torn away and I removed it because its annoying. The inside of the leather is soft enough that it doesnt scratch up my laptop.

I bought this bag hoping for durability, and it did not disappoint, except for one fatal design flaw, the straps started fraying after a little less than a year. I contacted Polare, they stood by their product and immediately provided me with a replacement. The ones they are selling now seem to have fixed the issue with the straps (changed placement, reinforcement, and added riveting), seems like its ready to stand the test of time now. They also seem to have upgraded the material used for pockets on the inside of the bag (I had no issues with the original material but its nice to see theyre always working on perfecting their products) The bag could be a little bit bigger for my travel needs but I wouldnt ding it in the overall rating for that, and I get A LOT of compliments on it, so its worth it haha Ill update with any further developments but Im very happy with the bag as its currently manufactured and would recommend Polare as a company! The Good First, let me say that I get many compliments on this backpack everywhere I go. I love the look of the leather even as it acquires scuffs and scrapes as I travel. It has a rugged manly look that many of my colleagues seem to like. This backpack does not have any flex or stretch.The strong leather construction does not allow you to stuff in more than it was designed to fit. That being said I had no problem fitting in my 17in ASUS Gaming Laptop with its power cord along with an IPAD, IPOD and Kindle Paperwhite. The side pockets can accommodate a water bottle and the 5 front pockets can store an assortment of power cords and accessories. 5 Stars for looks. The Bad The main zipper seems to be a strong metal type that you would expect on a heavier weight leather backpack but from the start I have had problems with the zipper not staying closed. After a few months the zipper is almost completely useless. I have not read any reviews that lead me to believe this is common issue with this backpack but for me this is a major flaw as it compromises the security of my possessions since the zipper will pull apart as a carry it and you dont feel it happen as you walk. The outside pockets have a simple strap that runs under a metal loop that keeps the pockets closed. I have found that the straps easily pull out of the loop as you are walking and anyone can easily access your pockets. I think a simple head button stud would do the trick. Unfortunately I travel all over Europe and having unsecured pockets is a deal breaker for me. - 3 Stars for a weak zipper and loose pocket straps that leads to unsure items and a sloppy look. The Ugly Nothing Ugly to report as of yet. I will be contacting the company who handles the 1 year warranty and I will update this review when the issue has been settled.

I was looking for a solid, hardy, backpack and after a lot of searching and comparing I settled on this one. Pros: Roomier than expected. I had read that there was space for a laptop, but there is also enough volume for several books, a tablet, etc. Excellent number of compartments. Given that this bag is now my all day away from home bag it has enough individualized space to house the various utilities and items that I had previously thrown into a single bag together. Quality. I confess I dont know leather as well as some, but this bag feels a lot like some of the best leather items I have ever owned. Feels like it will last a long time with care. Aesthetic. I am ready to rob tombs with this bag. Cons: Velcro on the outer pockets. This seemed out of place on such an antiquarian looking bag. Padding on shoulder straps. With a full load these can dig a little, but only if you arent wearing jacket. Overall I would highly recommend!

Love this bag so far! All the pouches seem like a Rob Liefeld nod but are actually quite useful. The zippers seem of good quality. This bag is huge so maybe not for the smallest of framed folks out there, definitely more fit for overly muscular super-hero types. My only concern is the interior material. Ive only had this for a couple days, so time will tell, but the interior material seems to lack the quality of a commensurate bag in that its a seemingly inexpensive synthetic material as opposed to a heavier wool, blend, or something like that. Its similar to a kids backpack. I hope it holds up to the daily abuse.

To start off with, the bag smells AMAZING. This bag is definitely made of real leather, and feels and looks great, and marks easily, like leather should, and I like the aged look of the marks. The reason this bag receives 4 instead of 5 stars is the leather dye. After reading several reviews about this bag bleeding onto clothing, I decided to rub a white rag across the bag the moment I unwrapped it. Sure enough, it came saturated in dark, reddish brown dye. Im not a leather worker, so I cannot tell you why this is, but it was worth checking. I am a mechanic, my car interior is black, and most of my clothes are black or dark blue, and I come home most nights covered in oil, so this will not be an issue with me, my wife however, likes to wear bright clothing, so she will be unable to use my bag. I recommended curing the bag with Leather Honey to keep it protected, cause investing this much money in a bag would be ridiculous if you didnt take care of it. That being said, I look forward to putting some hard hours on this thing and seeing how long it holds up. On another note, the straps are leather and the cliché bag strap material, and use the strap through loop method (similar to military duffel bags, except without the teeth to held the straps in place) and are NOT padded. If you have weak shoulders, wear a thick jacket, or pack light, cause over time this could wear on you, and the straps may loosen. I would recommend this bag to others, as long as they dont wear light colored clothes a lot. As to the reviews about the zipper, it does appear rather small toothed for a leather bag, but that doesnt bother me, and there is a leather working shop near me I can use to upgrade the zippers. I have not had it long enough to see how well it holds up, but I will post a new review if it does not.

This was my first Polare purchase after reading a lot of the reviews. It wont be my last. I was very pleasantly surprised when the bag arrived. It smelled like leather & it was high quality nice think & durable. The pockets are all velcro and attach fine with the leatherc lasp there for additional security. Ony nifty thing I like is this bag has a compartment up against your back where you could store passport/cash etc without it iether being uncomfortable while at the same time maintaining complete security. The lining is nice and soft and all well stitched. Again, the interior is abreadth with compartments, pen holders, sleeves etc. I took this on my first trip & had three people ask where I got the bag & when I referred them they were surprised at such a great quality & value. Polare great quality & from others the warranty & support seems outstanding although as well constructed as this I expect not to need anything for years to come.

This’s a great urban back pack, not one that I would take for hiking.
