This is, yet another, pretty simple device. It either works or it doesnt. This works perfectly well and was easy to set up.

My wife had an old, but still decent, laptop that had a failing HDD. I replaced it with this SSD and now the laptop works better than new and had more storage. Cost more for than others of the same size but reviews make it seem like the better choice due to quality.

Wont restart on an old mac pro. Must cold boot for the mac to recognize the drive.

Good quality part, faster than my old disk. Physical install easy. The Samsung software hung at the end of the transfer (after 3.5 hours). I first used the USB adapter, then a second disk port, both hung. Their Tech support has a general statement that admitted to the problem, and even suggested using another freeware program. I used the suggested program, a transfer of my three partitions seemed to work, but boot was not there. After trying some other options, I ended up doing a sector by sector copy which finally did work. After all of that the system has been working without problems. Suggest you defrag and then back up as soon as you get your system buttoned up!
