Excellent replacement for my old hdd. Installing it is easy. I wish there was samsung magician for linux. It was fine since I had to use dd command to clone the drive.

Was easy to install inside my computer case that had brackets in it to hold the SSD

What more can I say? These drives are the best price these days! Like I said in the headlines. I now own at least six of these drives. They all provide great performance, and not one has failed. I have other SSD drives from Crucial and Kinston that have, in fact, failed. Not one of my Samsung drives has failed. Knock on wood!!!

If youre looking for a gaming storage drive, STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE.

I gave this drive 3 stars because even though it is a high performance drive, Samsung’s own software, Magician, does not recognize the drive. I used a third party tool for migrating my data which was no big deal but there is no way to upgrade the firmware without Magician. I went on their tech support site and found many other people had the same issue. I saw postings from 3 months earlier and yet the issue is still unresolved. I realize there are issues with software compatibility sometimes. But what does it take to put out a hotfix, or special version just for the 870? If I had it to do over again I would not buy this drive due to the poor support.
