I think its much better than my kindle. I have found that I can use the full functions that Android offers, which Kindles cant.

I finally decided to upgrade from my Galaxy Tab E, to the Tab A8.

I bought this tablet for my husband who had a 2014 Samsung Note that he uses for reading the newspaper. The battery was only holding about 1 hour of charge, so, he wanted a new tablet. This one is superb and he is thrilled with it. He reads his 2 newspapers and has enough power left to read the next days edition and still have power left. The screen can be set from easy on the eyes to very bright. I purchased a glass screen protector and even with that, the screen is plenty sensitive. He loves it!

After trying to go brand x I came back to Samsung Galaxy. Reliable quality cant be beat. And Amazon support is always a big plus.

The tablet is a bit heavy. But I wanted to stay with the same brand. But it works well,, and so far I have no complaints

Im replacing a 6 year old Tab A. There is considerable storage now in addition to the micro SD slot. Charger plugs into the bottom which I find annoying. Otherwise, I am delighted.

I definitely would not recommend this one. There are much better ones out there around the same price I’m telling you don’t waste your time.

While trying to set the tablet up it began spontaneously returning to the home screen at random times. At first I thought I must be touching the navigation buttons but I was able to rule that out because the problem occurred even when the tablet was laying flat on the table with nothing even close to the navigation buttons. I couldnt even set up my email initially it happened so often. I contacted Amazon customer support, and they had me try all the things I had already tried to no avail. But at least it began to happen less frequently. I should have returned it the first day, but the problem became more intermittent. It still happened multiple times every single time I used it, but less often so I was able to complete tasks. Nobody wants to return a device theyve put all their personal information on, so I continued to be patient. One month in, and I took it off the charger one morning, checked the weather without issues, and 5 minutes later it was just a brick. Completely unresponsive. I tried a factory reset from the off position without luck. Ruled out charger issues. Thankfully Amazon refunded my money and took it back. I am sure every tablet isnt as defective as the one I was sent, but that is the one I am reviewing. I declined having them send me another of the same tablet, and I bought a Lenovo instead.

I read many reviews about the space that is used for preinstalled, system, or factory apps when first turning on the tablet. For MY tablet, I chose not to have it install/transfer any of the apps I usually would use. This allowed me to see what apps were pre-installed and what space it took up. After initial setup I found that the tablet only had about 10 gigs of space used by preinstalled, system or factory apps. Were there apps I wouldnt use and deleted? Yes, of course. BUT for my case I was plenty satisfied with the 32 gig tablet that I purchased.

Used this for a week. If you can get on sale for around 180 I reco you buy this table over a Kindle or iPad.
