30-12-2024Very cool size, and looks great in red or blue. I am able to copy large movie files at up to 600MB/second, sometimes a little more. Very happy with that. My internal hard drive cant even read as fast as this thing can write, so i had to copy-test with the internal SSD instead. I considered the X5 thunderbolt drive but in reality thats too much speed most folks will never need or even have the equipment to achieve.

> 3 dayAvoid Samsung SSD T7. My experience is similar to the experiences others have had with this product. Specifically, SSD causes computers to over heat. The SSD also gets extremely hot! The issue does not correlate to i/o or computational load. The issue occurs the moment the SSD is attached to the computer. Interestingly, the Samsung T5 does not have these problems. It is my conjecture that the T7 is simply an overclocked T5. If my suspicions are true Samsung is engaging in very shady business practices. Please do your self a huge favor and avoid the T7 as it will ruin your hardware.

> 3 dayI used this to backup my old PC that is not going to last much longer, It works quick and has security features which I didnt know about like being able to lock it with a password which is a plus. I have used it to transfer data to a new PC and it works very quickly. It doesnt heat up at all and is quite compact. Great little portable SSD.

> 3 dayFor a MacBook air M1, connection was flawless, the download and upload speed were brutally slow, not what I expected. Returned it , and using the old style drive.

> 3 dayI got this to speed up backups. I make a bootable clone with Carbon Copy Cloner on a Mac runnng Monterey. I was using an ancient hard drive, and the clone on it took too long to boot up and react to really be viable in an emergency. Plus the backup itself took over an hour for 160MB.
