When I opened the box I was stunned to see how small this disk was! Its lightweight, tiny and looks awesome! Speed is amazing too, I moved an initial batch of data from my old external HD and it was a brisk in comparison to what I was used to. Additional perk is that it comes with both USB to C and C to C cables, so it can be easily connected to any device - including phones and tablets with is a great feature for me - old disk could not be read by any of my Android devices. One thing though, when you want to disconnect the disc from phone or tablet, unmount it prior to unplugging, otherwise the device will keep bugging you for restart.

I use a Mac Mini (Late 2014) and installed Mac OS Monterey on the internal HDD however it was working super slow. After I installed Monterey on the Samsung T7 SSD the OS boots up 3 minutes faster and apps load so much quicker. I had to create a bootable flash drive and copy the Monterey installer onto that device for it to work because it was giving me errors when trying to do it straight from the desktop. The SSD can sometimes get hot but I dont think its anything to worry about. I believe my Mac Mini model has USB 3.0 ports and not 3.1 or 3.2 so I dont get the full speeds expected but it still makes a huge difference.

I purchased this as a bootable SSD for my Late 2015 iMac 21.5” (8GB Ram; 1TB HDD; 2.3ghz i5 processor) — I am a novice with technical applications, but have a little more than basic knowledge in order to properly Erase/Install macOS on an external drive after doing basic research.

Ill be completely honest dont bother if your planning on using it for gaming. I used it for my xbox and it wasnt any faster loading anything if it is its not even noticable. At first I thought it was because it felt like it transfered my games a little fast from Hd to ssd but when I tried a bunch of games that load slow they still loaded slow and it was hot as hell so its not a good one for gaming at least

For the price It does what I need it too do and is a very reliable Samsung storage device. Id assume it uses their own chips and the performance shows that. My mother thought this was an extreme upgrade from her old 2.5 in external hardrive. If you can find it on sale Id pick it up.

I purchased to back up my photos, documents etc that were on my laptop. It serves the purpose of having these on an alternative device to provide security of not losing any of these. I didnt know how to use this but tech support helped in doing what I wanted done. Really nice size as it is portable if I ever need to take along with me.

This worked for a very, very brief time. Contacted Samsung tech support via email, and they responded with the typical questions about order #, S/N, date of purchase, etc. Sent them the information. Crickets. Resent. Nothing. Sent snaps. De nada. Two phone calls were fruitless due to excessive hold time. Sent back to Azon for refund.
