This is one of those vacuums that you dont use everyday, maybe once a week. Well, unless you want some ripped forearms and a torn rotator cuff because this is one heavy machine. Not so heavy that you cant bring it up and down stairs but youll be breaking a sweat if you have a medium to large size house, and forget about summer time. But with that weight comes some serious suction power. It picks up a lot of dirt even with just one stroke across each section of the carpet. The dustbin is also huge so no need to empty it in between rooms. It has a 30 foot cord that is very handy, maybe a bit unwieldy. It came with 3 attachments - an edge sucker, upholstery thing, and a wind-powered brush - all work reasonably well. The entire system of the lift-away is nifty and fairly straightforward once you understand how it works. Overall, its an amazing machine perfect for keeping the house as clean as it can get. I wish it were even a couple pounds lighter to make the maneuverability better but its not a deal breaker. Compared to Dyson, which I also own, it has great power to cost ratio making it an easy recommendation for those who are clean freaks but not wealthy.

Do you have a pet that sheds so much on a weekly basis you could make whole liters of new pets from their hair? GET THIS VACUUM. I love my dog but the shedding is excessive, on every surface. If you want to seamlessly vacuum wood floors and go right onto carpet with the push of a button - THIS vacuum does that. If you want a vacuum that gets into spaces you normally can’t - THIS ONE. If you want to stop spending HOURS every week sweeping your floor, this one will save you time and back pain! The one downside is it is a little on the heavier side but I think the weight helps it pick up as much as it does. I don’t mind getting a little workout in while the floor is being cleaned!

Great suction, the soft roller is great for my bare floors. Love the anti hair wrap brushroll. I took a chance and bought a refurbished unit - very pleased with it! Thanks, Good as New Electronics!

I just got the vacuum today. It was easy to put together but I have not yet found where ALL the attachments go. I see a space for two of the three but then was left standing there holding the little attachment and looking all around for the space it goes in and ended up just leaving it lay on the table. For comparison, I have a 7 year old Dyson DC40. The PROS - This vacuum has great suction. - The cord is 30 feet long - 5 feet longer than my old vacuum which makes a big difference, believe it or not. - I love the light on the floor piece. It makes it so much easier to see. - It is much quieter than the old Dyson. The CONS - This is a heavy vacuum, almost 18 pounds, which doesnt seem like a lot, but it is when you have arthritis. - Its bulky! And thick - meaning the edges of the vacuum dont fit under the sofa like the old Dyson. - It can be self propelled on carpet, but it doesnt turn as smoothly or easily as my old Dyson. - It has two (2) filters you have to change out and they are not cheap. - The attachments fall off all the time or get pulled off by the cord. All in all, I am pleased with it so far. I vacuumed the whole house and then vacuumed it again because I was so grossed out by how much stuff the Shark picked up. However, I still havent figured out where the other attachment goes. Ive read the manual cover to cover and stared at the dang machine for 20 minutes. Its probably very obvious and right in front of my face, but Im just not seeing it.

This is my second Shark vacuum and I am very pleased with it. It has awesome suction and its easy to maneuver. Its easy to go from vacuuming to attaching one of the tools to it and back again. Ive had it now for close to a year I guess and it is still just as good as the day I bought it. I have yet to have to clean any hair off the beater bar! My only complaints are that one of the wheels has started squeaking when you push it and the squeak is rather loud. My second complaint is there isnt enough room on the vacuum to put all the attachments so if you need the one that doesnt have a place on the vacuum you have to go retrieve it. This is a minor problem and I can easily live with it! I would recommend this unit.

Got this today, was a breeze to assemble and get going. Picks up a lot of dirt and hair quickly, I like the no tangle bush as we have a longer hair dog, and my wife and daughter both have long hair which used to have to be cut from the beater bar of our old vac on a regular basis. This one has 3 filters so good for allergies, and the dual brushes which did very well on carpet and hardwood, getting a lot of the dust on the wood floor the old one couldnt get. Only a few things to note, the bin is a bit small and had to be dumped a lot because of pet hair, 3 times on our main living room. It is not the lightest vacuum but about the same as our old one. I wish it came with a cleaning brush head (separate order...) and had room on board for all the attachments instead of just 2. The head is low profile and fits places our old one would not, and it turns very well. Will see how well it holds up as the Dyson 07 it is replacing lasted us for 20 years and did a good job consistently. Just didnt want to pay top dollar for a Dyson again. 3 months later and the vacuum is still doing a great job. We have not had any problems with hair wrap on the brush bar with our golden retrievers fur. Still have to dump the bin a lot with pet fur. Still miss that there was no standard brush attachment, but came with basically two upholstery brushes one powered, one not. About to order the standard long bristle cleaning brush so I can clean the air return and vents, be nice if the sizes were standard so I could just use the old ones from other vacuums. Another quick update, trying to find accessories like the dusting brush has been difficult. Shark does not carry one on their website, even though the owners manual says they do, and cant or wont tell you the dimensions needed. Ordering one from Amazon, let you know if it fits in a later update.

I was searching for a vacuum that would be great for my dogs hair. I have an Australian Sheppard and mostly all thick carpet and they have broken every vacuum I’ve had. I had a Dyson multi floor (I had hard wood flooring when I got it) and it did well on the hard flooring but once we moved it broke within a few months. So far this shark has been amazing. It’s easy to maneuver and it gets under things much easier than my Dyson. The shark does really well on my carpet and with my long dog hair. I do still have to clean off the roll sometimes but not near as much. The shark also does great on our tile and the throw rug we have. It’s actually so great on our rug I could have cried with joy. It doesn’t suck it up into the roller, and it doesn’t suck so hard I can’t move the vacuum. Amazing. Over all I’m so happy with it and definitely recommend it to anyone no matter the flooring or hair.

I am pretty impressed with this vacuum. After using a Dyson for years it was getting to expensive to repair. So gambled on the Shark after reading the reviews. Wife is pretty picky when it comes to vacuums. So far she is happy with this one
