> 3 dayIt was really easy to install. The kit comes with 2 Phillip screws and a screwdriver for them (no T6) to secure the adapter to the Mac mini and to secure the SSD to the adapter, respectively. The installation was really easy and fast. I used a T6 security torx screwdriver to open the Mac mini, remove the adhesive strip from the adapter, set the adapter into position, press down the adapters conector against the available SATA port (readily visible once you remove the Mac mini bottom lid) and installed the SSD (Crucial P1 500GB). That simple! I booted into macOS High Sierra (does not work with Sierra or prior versions of macOS) and the SSD was immediately recognized and requested to format. When I run the speed test with Blackmagic disk speed test software I get 700 MB/s write and nearly 800 MB/s read. Ive even got to configure it as a fusion drive using the Mac minis factory 1TB HDD! It made my Mac mini late 2014 usable, because it was painfully slow.

> 3 dayThis card coupled with a 500 GB Samsung 970 EVO (not Plus) has transformed my 1 TB HDD-only 2014 Mac Mini from a sluggish pain to use into a computer I really enjoy using. Installation was very easy. Make sure you have the special T6 Torx screwdriver with the hole in the middle of the driver head to remove the screws from the bottom plate on the Mini. The two tiny screws included with the card worked perfectly, one to mount the card to the Mini once the card is socketed and one to hold the SSD in the card. MacOS Catalina recognized the SSD immediately so I erased it and formatted Mac OS Extended, then rebooted into Recovery Mode, and followed Apple’s instructions to “unsplit” a Fusion drive so the existing HDD and new SSD work as a single 1.5 TB Fusion drive. Super easy, but you can also keep the drives separate. This card is the single best upgrade available for the HDD-only 2014 Mac Mini.

Greater than one weekI have the Mac mini late 2014 and the process of installing the SSD card was simple. Im not too computer savy but this item did everything as described. Im happy with the purchase.

> 3 dayEasy install. Wasn’t aware that NVME drives sit at a 30 degree angle, so that freaked me out since I thought my drive was bent. Mac mini detected the drive after a format. Used the included adhesive and screw to seat the adapter appropriately. It fit into the logic board easily.

> 3 dayI have a 2017 Mac Mini. In order to stay compatible with my iPhone 8 I had to update the OS. This rendered the Mac useless as it would take approx 60 second just to open a window. After adding the 1TB Samsung SSD the Mac is once again a fast computer. Im totally dissappointed with Apple for selling my a computer that killed itself in just over 3 years but Samsung saved the day.

Greater than one weekI happened to come across this while looking at SSD drives for my late 2014 model Mac-mini. Like most others, I found the computer had become nearly useless due to always having the spinning color wheel. I really had a hard time bringing myself to purchase a new Mac-mini since it would have cost >$1k. I really dont need much out of this desktop so thought maybe replacing the 1TB HDD with an SSD drive could help. The other problem though is I didnt want to replace it with something smaller so was looking at >=1TB SSD drives. Those arent terribly expensive, but still seemed a gamble since I wasnt sure that was really going to fix it.

> 3 dayI coupled this card with an inexpensive 500GB SSD. Installation was easy (no need to disassemble the Mac Mini--just remove the bottom and 6 screws that hold in the metal plate.). The NVMe SSD was recognized immediately upon boot up (OS X 10.13.6). The SSD makes an enormous difference in speed. Unlike many of the other SSD adapters for the 2014 Mac Mini, this one works with the less expensive standard NVMe SSD, not Apples proprietary SSD. A great choice for breathing new life into a 2014 Mac Mini.
