> 3 dayI purchased this (on another amazon account) to upgrade a late 2014 Mac mini with Fusion drive. This means that the Mac mini already had a 2.5” SATA drive installed as well as a small caching SSD in the top slot. If you’re going to try this, use the excellent guide at iFixit to see how it’s done, but be aware of a few things:

Greater than one weekPopped in a few minutes and with a new sd drive formatted and in use in hours. Brought my mac mini back to life

Greater than one weekThis did exactly what it claimed to do. It did it perfectly. It was reasonably priced. It got to me sooner than I expected. What could be better.

> 3 dayThe adapter works great. The only problem is the screws that come with it dont work well. I ended up just using the adhesive. The screws need to be longer and a spacer should be added for the screw that attaches the card (adapter) to the internal component (Mac Mini 2014) for people that dont want to use the adhesive.

> 3 dayEasy install. Wasn’t aware that NVME drives sit at a 30 degree angle, so that freaked me out since I thought my drive was bent. Mac mini detected the drive after a format. Used the included adhesive and screw to seat the adapter appropriately. It fit into the logic board easily.

Greater than one weekTo start, this adaptor is hard to find out of the online world. Once more, Amazon had it.

> 3 dayEasy upgrade, placed SSD in adapter, peeled attached adhesive backing off, placed in Mac Mini, slipped NVME SSD in the adapter, screwed in, closed it up, formatted and installed Mac OS Catalina, and done. Been working great. No issues.

> 3 dayThis adapter worked exactly as it was intended. It snaps into place and a screw is provided to secure the NVMe SSD card in place. I installed a Pioneer brand 256 GB drive. My late 2014 Mac mini recognized the disk immediately. After formatting and transferring my files via migration, my computer became young and peppy again. I recommend this adapter.

19-12-2024This is an easier solution than the Apple option. It let me use the NVMe SSD I already owned and was easy to install. The only downside was with a full length SSD card, the slot to secure the bracket can’t be reached.
