> 3 dayOf all the pencils I have tried, these are my favorite. I love the case, too. Some cases are constantly falling open and spilling contents everywhere and this case stays closed in my bag. Great quality. Im pleased.

Greater than one weekI like both the thombow mono and mars Lumograph, you cant go wrong with either set I used medium weight 70lb drawing paper for testing both sets come with 12 pencils of the same hardness level , 4H, 3H, 2H, H, HB, F B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B Tombow Mono come in plastic packaging with 12 unsharpened pencils, eraser and small sharpener Mars Lumograph some with 12 pre sharpened pencils in a nice metal tin case Tombow Mono hexagon barrel is slightly larger then the Mars Lumogrph Mono has pencil grade marked on 4 of the 8 side, Mars Lumograph Is marked on all 8 mono grade is marked with gold over white, Mars is easier to see quickly marked with white over black both have a nice barrel finish both sharpen well, although mono has a slightly rougher wood after sharpening with the hand sharpener it came with. both sets feel the same on paper. very smooth with the softer grades all the way up to 2H, 3H and 4H started to feel a little scratchy on the paper as expected for the hardness. both sets blended the same overall both sets are comparable to each other. it really comes down to what you want in the set. the Tombow Mono is a bit cheaper but you also get an eraser and sharpener. the mars lumograph comes with a nice metal tin for a few $ more. Because of the nice metal tin i keep the mars Lumograph on my desk and use them at home. I have the Tombow mono set in my Derwent Travel bag with my Charcoal pencils for on the go drawing.

> 3 dayI have the Mars Black and they are smoother but sometimes the black doesnt mesh with the lighter grades. So I thought I would get around to giving these a try. Several of the pencils in the set have been hard to sharpen. Frustrating to have them keep breaking before you even get to use them. I tried several different sharpeners and it made no difference. Secondly a couple of the pencils actually smell unpleasant when sharpening them. I love pencils and have lots of brands so this was kind of surprising the smell of the wood. A couple of the pencils are scratchy too - easily digging lines into the paper. (My Prismas dont do that even in the lightest grades). However after adjusting for that they were ok drawing a picture. Not fabulous however.

> 3 dayThese are currently my favorite graphite pencils. Ive used derwent for years and those are good too but I feel like these are a bit smoother. I primarly use them for graphite portraits. The only thing I like the derwent pencils more for is that I feel like the size of the cores are a bit larger in the derwents than these but I prefer the softer leads in these. Something to know about the Staedtler 7B and 8B is that they do not have that graphite shine, the Derwent 7B and 8B do. This particular set does not have the 7B and 8B but I thought its something interesting to know when comparing those two brands.

> 3 dayThese are good pencils covering a large range. Likely wont need all of these for typical work but nice to have. Be aware theres no padding in the shipment so had to return the first one since it had been crushed in hsipping.

> 3 dayProfessional quality. They hold up during fine detail and broad shading. The lead dont break every few seconds like the cheap ones.

> 3 dayIm giving this a three because personally i just dont feel the connection with them while in use...and plus sometimes buying things like these online the quality is never the same with so many buyers and different sellers cause Ive bought this brand before and I was impressed and less monry...now I spend more money and they arent up to par as u would think...my advice go to an actual hobby store so u how the real feels and u know its real
