My favorite drawing pencils ever! I have purchased several of these for artist friends, as well, just because I want them to be experiencing the best pencils, too! (This is not a paid advertisement...I didnt get a discount on these or free samples, Im just a huge fan!) This is a great starter set, too, although they dont have anything beyond a 6b. There is another set you can buy that goes up to 8b.

I used these when I was in college. The school required them and I found them to be quite versatile. I never had a complaint about the pencil, just my skill. XD

Great quality pencils, with its own set of pros and cons. Use this if you want to make clear consistent lines that you are confident of. Since it is mixed with carbon instead of being pure graphite it not have that shine that appears with regular graphite pencils when you shine light directly on it. But also because of the carbon this makes the pencil slightly harder to erase with than regular graphite pencils. Using eraser on the darker pencils can actually smudge instead of completely erasing so be careful. I recommend using lighter quality pencils like 2H or 4H for initial sketching before using 2B, 4B, 6B, or 8B for drawing and rendering the picture. Useful addition for any artist.

Quality is as remembered! Great product at a very affordable price. I love the metal tin case because it was something that saved my pencils from being broken at times. I can be quite tough on my stuff so my old case of pencils has some battle scars but despite those scars the pencils are still thriving! Thanks

Im giving this a three because personally i just dont feel the connection with them while in use...and plus sometimes buying things like these online the quality is never the same with so many buyers and different sellers cause Ive bought this brand before and I was impressed and less monry...now I spend more money and they arent up to par as u would think...my advice go to an actual hobby store so u how the real feels and u know its real

I have drawn for years mostly with mechanical pencils because I hated not having a consistent sharp point and I hated the scratchy feeling of the hard graphite wood pencils. I never would have thought that you would gain much from a high quality wood pencil vs. a less expensive pencil. It is just wood and graphite, right? Not exactly. These pencils are better. The harder H through H4 feel hard, but they dont have the irritating rough spots of clay that suddenly scratch the paper. I also found that with a small quality pencil sharpener like the Alvin Brass Bullet Sharpener, getting a sharp point is just a matter of a few twists of the pencil. I was use to those plastic low quality pencil sharpeners that seemed to split the wood or would put blisters on your fingers from twisting so hard. As a result I would use an electric pencil sharpener that eats too much of your expensive pencils. I recommend using a small handheld quality sharpener and your pencils will last a lot longer. All in all, high quality pencils, a little more expensive, but well worth it and dont forget to get a high quality handheld pencil sharpener.

these were recommended by a friend and I could not decide which size package to buy. I like that this has six pencils and frankly probably a good enough assortment of pencils. I like the little tin case to keep my pencils in and think it is a perfect size. I will probably replace my favorites one by one and continue to use the case. It is sturdy metal and has a hinged cover that snaps on tightly. The six pencils chosen include from soft to hard lead for details and shading. I would recommend this set to anyone serious about drawing. The only thing I might like better is if they were round instead of six sided. The six sided is nice because your pencils will not roll off the table but I find that round pencils are easier to sharpen without breaking. Be careful when sharpening!

Awesome set of highest quality drawing pencils to get started with. Only thing that would make these better would be if the set included an H and/or 2H, instead of both a 7B and 8B for a wider range of tones, but easy enough to add these if you need them.

I feel very in control with these pencils. They make even shading notably easier than other brands I have used. I can achieve values 2 to 15 very predictably. The lead very rarely breaks during sharpening unlike other brands I have owned. I will continue to use these for sure.
