Works perfectly with PS5. Definitely recommend Amazon as it was cheaper than else where even though it’s still quite expensive.

You should and will need a compatible heatsink for this drive, regardless of what youtubers or others say. If you wish to extend the life of this device it is paramount to get one. Super easy to apply and install and takes less than 5 mins. Even comes with a screwdriver that can be used to also unscrew the ssd compartment on the console, one tool for the job!

I loved the product, at the time of buying it the price was a bit over suggested MSRP of Gen 4 PCiE NVME internal SSD (399.99 for a 2 TB model with my actual Mb/s being down by 55 of the stated 7000 (or 7 GB) for what I needed it for are easily found at $330-345), but for a change of the trustworthiness of storage solutions WD’s SN850 2280 drives are now reliable unlike WD Black HDD game drives. Would highly recommend this SSD for anyone with either a hungering for either a great upgrade on their Gen 4 capable Motherboards or to end the debate now on console extra storage speeds (Xbox you lost big time with your dopey 2.43 GB/s obtrusive drive). With that final update with the console software opening up the Extra internal SSD, gone are the days of juggling around your high end PS5 level game library.

The 1TB model operates at only 800k iops... I wish this number was a bit higher, like 1 million... for 99 dollars, I wont complain.

My son ordered this for his Ps5 for more storage. He loves it so he dont have to delete or uninstall any of his games.

When that tax return hits, you know we on a shopping spree! I purchased this for my ps5 due to the fact that I hate uninstalling games to make space to install a new or old game or for the simple fact of big file updates. Shipping was pretty quick. Install was a breeze, now to put it to the test!

This thing is really fast

Just got the 1TB and installed it yesterday. Was a lot harder than I expected. The side of my PS5 took a lot of effort to pop off and then I needed a certain screwdriver to unscrew the peg that holds the ssd card in place. Almost gave up several times. I had to go to the hardware store to buy a special pack of incredibly small screwdrivers. I ended up using a flat head and then needle nose pliers after nearly ruining the screw head. Once you have the spacer in place and are putting the ssd card in you do have to use a little bit of force to pop it into place and it should angle up once it’s popped in. Then you screw it in place. Just be aware the whole process might be simple but does take some umph to do. After all’s said and done it does work fine and downloaded about three games to the card and they played fine. So happy to have more storage.
