I bought this for my PlayStation 3 Super Slim 12GB system. Before I bought and installed this HDD I could only save one game at a time on my PS3. If you have a super slim, I highly recommend buying this and the mounting bracket. I bought the MuchBuy hard drive mounting bracket and it works flawlessly. So for $60, the same price as a new video game, you can finally use your PlayStation 3 at its full potential. This HDD is already formated and ready to use out of the box. All you have to do is screw it into your mounting bracket and pop open the right side panel of your PlayStation 3, screw the mounting bracket in, and start your PS3 up and the PlayStation Will copy all your data from the internal flash drive into the New HDD and BAM! Its like having a brand new PlayStation 3!

Not the best replacement but it works

Used this to replace old 60g hard drive that fried. Worked perfectly! Now I have plenty of room for my modded PS3

Money value

This is the third WD HDD Ive ever had, and its fate has mirrored the previous two. It lives for about a year and crashes. I used mine as a PS3 hard drive replacement and despite being in an open, breathable and overall cool environment, all it took was a few digital downloads to send it overheating and burn out.

I bought an older, backwards compatible, PS3 a while back. The system only came with a 60GB hard drive which is abysmal in 2022 so I bought this hard drive as an upgrade. I didn’t even need to install the system software after changing out the drives. It gave me much more space than I’ll probably ever really need for a PS3. This would easily work for a PS4/Pro as well but I’d argue a 1TB hard drive would be a better upgrade or even getting an SSD for that matter.
