> 3 dayI use white gouache in my watercolor paintings for details. This gouache is very thick and covers very well. You can’t go wrong buying anything from Winsor Newton. Any product I’ve ever used from this line has been top quality.

> 3 dayI have always been pleased with the Winsor-Newton brand of paints. This gouache is no exception. It is a good quality color that easily covers the layer below it, but still gives the option of mixing if so desired. I am very pleased with this purchase.

> 3 dayThe gouache by Winsor and Newton is amazing. It can be used alone but I mostly use it in combination with watercolors for areas of my paintings that I want to be solid color and for backgrounds. Sometimes I add a dab here and there to finished watercolors for just a touch of extra vibrant color. The permanent white is a great, bright white for highlights. They are quite expensive, perhaps purchase just one or two colors to start and add to your collection over time. You can use white gouache and add regular watercolor paint to it to give it color, which is useful and economic. I am attaching some pictures of my paintings where I incorporated gouache. Sometimes the paint can look patchy if you don’t apply it in a thin enough layer. You can see that effect in the ladybug image. To get as even a background as possible I like to do 2-3 thinned down layers of gouache. It makes a smooth, non reflective background and in black it’s almost like velvet. I highly recommend these quality gouache paints!

Greater than one weekI thought I was buying the bigger tube. I don’t think in “ml” so I didn’t pay attention. Just posting for those of you who didn’t notice the size like I did. By the way, Permanent white is the same as Titanium white but just a different name. Zinc white is more transparent than Titanium/Permanent.
