After playing with the tp-link/kasa indoor smart plugs this feels rather old fashioned, you need to go into the wifi settings and connect directly to it manually, then go into the app, rather than do everything from the app. Instructions say once connected it will ask for router and password, but it never does. I was only able to setup a schedule and use it as a timed outlet with my current phone, however that leaves it sitting as an open access point anyone can connect to and change at will and isnt quite what I was expecting from the instructions or description. Googling everything refers to wionproducts.com, but that is a dead site as of Sept 28, 2018 according to godaddys This Web page is parked page which doesnt bode well for future updates. I finally figured it out reading that the app says it works with android 4 I dusted off my ancient Motorola Droid Razr M (android 4.4) and got it to connect to the router and it did what the instructions say it will! Once connected to the router my current android phone can use it now, but you need an old phone to set it up initially if you are using android, android 9 doesnt appear to work with the setup part of the app. I was going to give 2 stars, but bumpped up to 3 based on the low price. Once I got past the setup hurdles it does work but it is not in the same category as more modern smart outlets. (dated app, no google support, no ifttt support, etc.)

Easy to set up and connect to my Wifi network. Survived a couple rain showers with no issue. Easy to use app. Only sad thing this model does not support power usage information.

I purchased this to replace another device. I was under the impression that each outlet could be set differently (Time to turn on and off) When I set it up and downloaded the application for my phone, it was then that I realized that all the outlets work together instead of independently. I would not recommend this device unless it was to be used to turn everything on at once, as in Christmas Lights, Ornaments.

We have an outdoor fountain that I wanted to control from my phone, so I started looking for a smart outlet on Amazon. I tried two or three standard models with no success--the main problem is that the outlets kept losing wifi connectivity after a few days and needed to be rebooted, which is a huge pain when the outlet is outside the house and around the corner. In contrast, this Wi-on outlet never loses connectivity and has always worked flawlessly, for about 9 months now. The software is very simple and easy to use, and my wife and I can both control it at any time from her Android phone and my iPhone with no problems. Thats exactly what I was looking for. I like this outlet so much I just ordered a second one to hook our outdoor lights into--although we have a transformer for our lights that has an auto-timer feature built in, the Wi-on outlets timer is so much more reliable and functional that Im just going to disable the automatic timer on our transformer and plug the transformer into the Wi-on instead. Then Ill have one Wi-on running the fountain and another running the lights, all working through a single app on my phone (and my wifes phone), and turning the lights on automatically at sunset and off around the time we go to bed.

Like that it was cheap. Ergo the problem with this: you get what you pay for in performance reliability & setup ease Used it to setup a temporarily a Wyze cam outdoors. 1st problem is that to catch a WiFi signal & config this thing took several tries. Not sure what the problem was since my WiFi network is strong & easy to acquire for most all other Wifi able products. Kinda just lucked onto my network after about 20 minutes... 2nd problem I noticed: if there is a power outage it will require a manual reboot. It will not come back on line by itself. 3rd item as every1 has mentioned: each input plug is not independent of each other ie you cannot control one without controlling the other. power on/off for BOTH at same time. All in all - I went cheap & got spotty performance & difficult setup. Hopefully, it will be a rarely used item that won;t forget its network configuration after inactivity (like used occasionally). I just cant recommend this thing if reliability is paramount & setup ease is an after thought.

Nice product. Woulf be great if you could control each socket individually. In general great way to control my ponds pumps.

This has nothing to do with the vendor. BUT the WION tech team just told me that if Iphones are used, you have to pay an additional 100 dollars to have connections to the plug (TO ANY WION PRODCUT). They have to load additional software and they said the latest releasee has a security patch that does not allow it. So I have to send it back and get TP link and place in a box,

Works great. Just wish it could control individual plugs instead of all 3 at once. And this does work with Alexa. I emailed Their customer service yesterday and they said the feature is coming soon but wouldnt give me a time frame but I just received today and works with alexa just fine so I have no idea what they are talking about.

I was excited when I found this Outdoor Wi-Fi Plug-In Yard Stake for the amazing low price. I unpacked it and downloaded the App to begin the installation process. For some unfortunate reason, the App could not find or connect to my network no matter what I tied. Gave up after an hour of trying and ordered a different brand and model at a higher price. I was able to connect the replacement easily. In short, you get what you pay for.
