You need a good wifi router or extender to reach through walls and outside. If too far from your source it may not work. Mine does. Good luck..

I have just installed the WiOn outdoor Wi-Fi power stake and LOVE its functionality: my Android Smart Phone controls the outdoor lights reliably, and the app allows setting up an automated on-off schedule easily. The initial adding of the device to my home network however was a BEAR (and I have worked with computers for over 30 years and LOVE to play with technology). What I learned: 1) the included directions suggest using their scannable link to download the WiON app to my adroid phone which did not work (I went to Google Play and downloaded the WiON app manually); 2) you are instructed to choose the WiON stake from available devices on your SmartPhone WiFi settings BUT it is not made clear that what you are looking for is a device which begins with ECO- followed by a string of random numbers; 3) You are then told to select in the WiON app the router you wish to connect the power stake to which suggests a hardware name (each router does in fact have a hardware name) when what is meant is the network name (sometime called the SSID); 4)You are then told to enter information in the app (zip code, device name (the name you wish to associate with the power stake you are installing, for example Stake1), followed by the WiFi router password (which really means the network password of the SSID in step 3); 4) When done you select SAVE SETTINGS in the app but this option did not appear on the SmartPhone screen until I blanked out the keyboard used to enter zip code, etc. Having written instructions I know it is hard, but these instructions make the task seem impossible. It is not, but you have to be careful to say what you mean. Thanks for a great product (I hope); please improve documentation; and I have set a calendar reminder to update this on January 10 to see if I remain cautiously supportive.

Put this to work approximately one month ago and the unit continues to work well. This makes our outdoor fountain operation very convenient.

I’ve had these outlets for years. With the new iOS 16 update, it will not work anymore. I had to use an older iPad with iOS 15 in order to control the lights. This app is long overdue for an update

Great product

Working 15 feet away from my house and about 20 feet from my router. Nice to remotely turn on Christmas lights in the winter, and rope lighting on my patio during the summer.

I would rate this 5 stars, except it is not compatible with Google Assistant. It is a decent product, I bought it for my X-mas decorations and use it during the rest of the year to control the bedroom fan.

To start, the instructions are poorly written which made the install time consuming. The instructions also indicate that the product is not for continuous outdoor use although the box indicates Outdoor Wi-Fi Yard Stake. Most import for me is that each of the three outlets CAN NOT be programmed separately. So if you plug in a water fountain and a string of lights, they will turn on and off at the same time which is useless as the lights are not needed until the evening. Better off buying a mechanical timer for $10 as it does the same thing. What value is there in having it connected to Wi-Fi?

Would have rated it a five last year but changed my router (different internet provider) now the signal doesnt show up on .phone AND no way to reset the WiOn. NO RESET. CRAZY. Wrote the company to ask what to do and NO REPLY. RIDICULOUS. Now I have an outdoor paper weight, but no paper out there. I found a phone number on the website they finally called me back after my second call a week after the first call. A reset exists. Just hold the switch button down when plugging in the power. When blue light stops flashing it is reset then release. Works fine now. 3 stars for poor instructions, slow service, and no info on website.

Works great for me. Control it with my iPhone app and Alexa. Straight forward setup.
