Listen, I cant say enough good things about this series. A very interesting series. Set your theories about religion and God aside and enjoy this wonderful tale of magic and faith! Now, dont misunderstand me, this is a wonderful fantasy series with some overtones of the Omnipotent One, but still a wonderful book. Envelope yourself in the story and enjoy!

From start to finish it is easy to follow and understand the adventure. The author does a wonderful job of giving enough description to paint a clear picture, but not too much that bogs down the pace of the story.

Want a little fresh breeze of beauty and courage? I read this trilogy curled up by the Christmas tree, on the bus crisscrossing Jerusalem, even walking home down our very steep and winding road, bursting into a grin at the last line. I keep thinking of them as songs for the weary heart. I needed an oasis and a fresh inrush of courage, and this time it came through Rachels writing, with all its bracing beauty.

Just when you think you have this book figured out they have a twist waiting for you right around the corner.

Nice to read about adventure, danger, and battle without being drenched in gore by the author.

Rachel Starr Thomson is now my favorite author! With writing that is much in the same light as THE Tolkien, Ms Thomson weaves an entrancing tale that leaves the reader slightly breathless and wanting more... on to book two of the series!!

This is a novel about the spiritual battle between the forces of good and evil. Any Christian should recognize the similarities between the King who has been in another world for a long time and the Lord Jesus Christ. Most of the people on Earth have forgotten Him or stopped believing in this novel. But there are some who hold the hope of His return in their hearts. There also is a prophet and a seer, making the novel more interesting. The common people tire of their evil rulers and revolt, only to be confronted by the powers of darkness. It was an interesting read, although I felt that much of the n novel gave too much focus on the power of darkness instead of the power of good. N

I love a fantasy story that is entertaining yet gives a glimpse into the spiritual world and the things to come. Thanks for providing wholesome reading.

Enjoyed the theme and writing style. Good mix of fiction with an underlying presence of the spiritual forces that we dont see as well as a reminder that we all choose to follow either good or evil.
