Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop PC, 15.6 FHD IPS w/ 144Hz Refresh, Intel i7-8750H, GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB DDR4, 256GB NVMe SSD, Aeroblade Metal Fans PH315-51-78NP

Ive owned my Predator Helios 300 for 2 years. Ive had to have it repaired three times--twice for black screen problems (covered by warranty) and now, after the warranty expired. the motherboard needs repair. Ive spoken with three tech places and they all agree that the motherboards Acer uses are not the best quality. One positive is that the warranty lasts two years and I only had to pay for shipping for the first two repair jobs.

Received a model that does not include the caddy/bracket and cable for 2nd hard drive. This was pretty disappointing. I immediately contacted Acer chat and the person there was unable/unwilling to help me and told me there was nothing that they could do. After receiving a message from the manufacturer, I placed a called and a very helpful customer care representative made arrangements for me to get the kit in the mail. She was unable to tell me why I didnt get the kit pre-installed but theorized that it was an older computer that Amazon had in stock from before they were included. Well see how that goes.

Absolute great price to power ratio on this computer if you are willing to work with it a bit. There are a few things that need to be done in order for this computer to run as its intended to.

This laptop has some very extreme pros and cons to it for me so far.

Short story: I have a defective laptop, I have received false repairs, I have talked to seven customer support agents, and I have been given misinformation and a complete lack of assistance in getting my device replaced.

La computadora en sí es una obra de arte, pero me encontré con este detalle cuando le intenté agregar un nuevo disco duro en la recamara que trae. Quienes son muy delicados lo verán como un problema grande. Mucho ojo en revisar su aparato una vez recibido, lastimosamente he traído la laptop a otro país fuera de donde la compre y se me hace imposible devolverla. Por lo demás me parece una buena inversión. Lo que si esta claro es que se calienta demasiadisimo. Se soluciona con un undervolting.

Good for gaming and good price

Recieved this about a week ago. Ive been trying every game I have on it. This in my opinion is one of the best options for the price. Its alittle on the heavy side, but its durable for sure. Thankyou for a high quality product

Ive been using it for quite a few months now. No issues at all. Zero! All pros. ;P No cons. actually I do take that back. 2 cons. 1) only 3 usb 2.0/3.0 ports. I do like that it has a usb-c, but I dont have any peripherals that use it. 2) the edge where your wrists rest (say that ten times fast) is a bit sharp.

powerful laptop. great for games, great for graphic design and video editing. my only issue is that the usb c doesnt have video output. so only one external monitor can be used.
