I GOT A BOOK Get Started with GOUACHE by Emma Block and I got THIS SET OF GOUACHE paints to go with it, per a You Tuber Ive been following. I DO LOVE THESE PAINTS. This is a new medium for me to experiment with. Im not an artist by any stretch of the imagination, but I do love to paint my composition book pages before I start to collage/write/decorate the page for the day. These are proving to be a medium I will enjoy a lot and I have a feeling my acrylic paints may NOT be getting replaced as they run out. This set of Gouache paints are really nice. Easy to use, rather spendy, but I believe they will last a long time. Very versatile and beautiful colors in this set.

So I loved swatching these paints right out of the tube. They are absolutely stunning. The paints dry to a matte finish which I like but they feel chalky without being chalky. I hope that makes sense. I poured them into full size pans, let them dry for 4 days and then re-wet them as I prefer working from a palette. I must say that they had to be wet quite a bit to reach the same consistency and vibrancy as if out of the tube but that’s fine. I bought them to color with my girls and they are enjoying them.

I love these paints! only docked a star because you cannot purchase the individual tubes if you run out of a color. if Arteza starts doing individual tubes then I would change it for 5 stars! You get a huge amount of colors and therr are often $10 off coupons especially on Amazon. I tried the Reeves gouache and the Masters Touch gouache at my local hobby stores and these Arteza paints are by far the best ones Ive tried. Nice set of gouache. A mix of names artist colors as well as unique named colors(ex: ballerina pink). Very happy with the pigment load and variety of colors. For me there are a few more pale colors than Id like, and would have liked to see raw umber, indian red, raw sienna but again still satisfied with the colors I found. You can see from the photos which are opaque and which colors life out easily(white line above the black).

I love this gouache, the only thing that I would recommend is that you use it right out of the tube, as it dries out very easily, and once it is re activated, its just not the same, at all. Other than that, its great for beginners.

Good paints for a good value. Not the best for learning color theory of youre a beginner since it was super easy for me to get overwhelmed. But once you get the hang of them theyre nice to paint. The paints do dry a little lighter and the tubes arent always an accurate representation of the colors but for the price I cant complain.

The box arrived slightly damaged front when outside. Inside, it was another story. It looked like the set I received had been used. Most of the top-layer tubes were crumbled; one of them had been opened or leaked out and the paint was everywhere. The side tabs of the top trays showed also some damage being crumbled and even rip in places but the tray themselves were fine (hence my wondering if this set was second hand and repackaged since it looked that someone hd already pried the top level trays out). I contacted the Arteza, the seller, four days ago but I have heard back at all. So sad.

My 10 YOs face lit up when she saw these. I had also included heavy duty paper and pallets. I think these are for the more serious aspiring child artist. Remember to buy paper and other items so they can hit the road running.

I haven’t used this product yet, but purchased it because of friends that already use the Arteza gouache paints and love the pigmentation, the ease of use and the results.
