I saw this movie when it first came out in theatres. This movie never ceases to amaze me. Although the TV series was intended for youths, it did very well in the ratings amoungst adults - including myself ater it went into sydnication. I bought this DVD a few weeks ago and I still laugh at this campy movie. The DVD includes an additional track on the movie that a person can turn on that has Adam West and Burt Ward doing an audio commentary. Although I am much older now I still laugh at the silliness of this movie. Is there anything that Batman does not carry in his utility belt. And shark repellant (and other unlikely sprays) in a helicopter? Theres something you dont see every day but I strong recommend seeing this movie.

Wow, such memories were elicited. I just love Adam West and Burt Ward authenticity for these roles and then to get the special treat of have Ceasar Romero, Burgess Meridith, and Frank Gorshin. I would have loved to see Julie Newmar instead of Lee Meriweather. I would have liked to see Eartha Kitt as Cat Women because I think she was Puuuurrrrrrrrrfect in the role. It made me want more. I forgot about the famous Bruce Lee as Kato in the series. I laughed so hard right from the start with the get the Bat ladder then it is dropped down from the Bat helicopter and actually says Bat Ladder at the end of ladder and shark attack with the rubber shark attached to Batmans leg on the Bat Ladder while Robin gets the Bat Shark repellent. Man this was a fun movie to watch, it will definitely be one that I pull out from now on when I need a laugh. This is how Batman was meant to be not dark and scary with a lot of violent shooting and blowing things up.

Hilarious movie- especially if you prefer Frank Millers harsher version of the character- but its the commentary tracks that really make it enjoyable even if youve already seen the movie. Recommended if you grew up on it- or want to mock it to no end. Either way this movie is gold.

I want to start out by saying I am an adult female fan. I have loved Batman as long as I can remember. I bought the Blu Ray when Amazon had it on sale for $8.99 While waiting on it to arrive I watched some clips on YouTube. Every clip I saw I was laughing. The last time I watched this movie I was a kid. My mom bought me the VHS when I was a kid. As a kid it wasnt corny. The trailer had me laughing the entire time. Poor Burt Ward had the corniest lines in the trailer. Spoiler Even the date Bruce & Catwoman went on was so corny it was funny. Bruce was a bit dramatic sounding on the date. End of Spoiler I do wish Julie Newmar had been Catwoman. Lee Meriwether did a great job but shes no Julie Newmar. I think the movie is way more corny than the tv show. While I think Adam West is a great Batman he is no Michael Keaton. Ever since I was kid my favorite Batman actor is Michael Keaton. He will always be my favorite Batman. I could not believe it when I read in a magazine that had a section dedicated to Batman that Bob Kanes favorite Batman is Val Kilmer. I honestly dont see how he thinks Val Kilmer is the best Batman. My two favorite Batman actors are Michael Keaton & Adam West. I like Christian Bale much better than Val Kilmer & George Clooney. I was sad to read in that magazine that Michael was offered the Batman role in Batman Forever and he turned it down. I can understand him being sick of playing Batman since he played Batman twice. I still wish he had played the role for his fans. Batman The Movie in my opinion is still a great movie despite the corny lines. Considering it was made in the late 60s the technology and special effects were good. My first two favorite movies are the two Michael Keaton movies then this one. I ended up buying the Blu Ray since for some reason the regular DVD is no longer available. The regular DVD is $15+ on eBay and they are used. I found it was for once cheaper to buy the Blu Ray version. Amazon very briefly had it at $8.99 and I just couldnt pass up that great price.

Between season one and season two of the campy Batman TV show(1965-1968), there was a Batman movie that played in movie theaters. There was an X Files movie released in movie theaters in 1997. The Joker, Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler are planning something big and Batman and Robin are our only hope! Adam West and Burt Ward do their usual hammy acting job as Batman and Robin. Wests deadpan humor makes me smile! This Batman movie is just as campy as the TV show. Batman almost throws a giant bomb into a marching band and some children! Batman yells, On some days, you just cant get rid of a bomb! Fox Home Video did a great job releasing this film on DVD. It was one of the first DVDs that I bought and it delivers in quality and quantity. I only paid $5 for it. Theres interviews with Adam West and Burt Ward as extras and movie trailers. Jerry Warren tried to emulate this film and the Batman TV show in The Wild World of Batwoman(1966). The film was so derivative that DC Comics sued him! Some prints of the movie are known as She Was a Hippy Vampire(1966). Batman The Movie(1966) is retro, campy fun.

As a family we love it year after year it is so tongue in check hilarious! Doesnt take itself seriously like the animated versions. Casting could not be better : Burgess Meredith; Caesar Romero; Frank Goshen ; and Adam West as Batman. Id mention them all and I would if I could remember them. (Im the grandma) Grandkids are 6, 8 and 10 years; their father is 41. We span the decades and we all love this beautiful comedy! Dont you remember that Batman music: da-na-da-na-da-na BATMAN. Slide down the Bat Escape to the waiting Bat-winged Chrysler Imperial or the likes. Pure unreal fun! Great Color super-real fiction.

The story doesnt hold up as it once did and the camp is over the top for 2015. The stars are for the great quality print in HD. I bought this to see if I should buy the expensive TV series on blu ray. Now, I will pass. Im sorry, Adam West is the worlds biggest over actor! I will watch the series if it comes on TV, mostly to see the best Batmobile and killer theme song. This movie has all the best villains and for casual fans like me, is all you need. I have to laugh at 50 year old men who regard this as cult fans. I know a few! They know all the villains and every cameo that pokes out the window on Batman & Robins wall scaling! To sum up the review, If you want the best episode, here it is! Just enough camp and enough of Adam West to handle! They did a great job restoring it for HD!
