03-04-2025Sure, there are ways to get rid of a bomb, but for some reason this one grows on you. If you were a fan of the 60s TV show or want to introduce this version of the caped crusader to a new generation this will be a great launch board. If anything you to an hour and a half of babysitting material that looks better then when it was originally released. KAPOW!

Greater than one weekI have now seen this movie maybe fifty times and still counting. My four-year-old son is ADDICTED to Batman, the Batcopter, the Batcycle, the Penguins sub, etc. With the bigger-than-TV movie budget that allowed for these toys plus the presence of four bat villains, this is a must for fans of the BATMAN TV series. Adults will also appreciate -- perhaps after repeated viewings -- director Les Martinsons adept staging in long, well-timed comic takes among the villains. The bad guys are expert actors all, with relative novice Lee Meriweather (subbing for Julie Newmar, who was shooting McKENNAS GOLD during the hiatus) acquitting herself admirably as a comedic villain. And does she look an ABSOLUTE KNOCKOUT as both Catwoman and as Russian Cold War hottie, Miss Kitka. Adam West certainly owns this incarnation of Batman, and wait til you hear how Burt Ward got the part of Robin! Kudos also to Nelson Riddles jazz score, which I finally felt compelled to seek out (and found!) as a CD. Of course, we listen to this in the car all the time, and I have yet to get bored with the paradoxical variety of tonal colors despite the narrow instrumentation for jazz band. The script by Lorenzo Semple Jr. who wrote all? most? much? of the first season is slyly funny and supports both goofiness and a coherent narrative. Basically, its fun, nostalgic, and a great take on -- and execution of -- the material. The commentaries from Adam West and Burt Ward are a little spare on info, but still welcome, as is the extra feature about the Batmobile. In all, a near PURRRR-fect DVD, and a cheap guilty pleasure at a relatively low price.

Greater than one weekI am a big fan of the 1960s Batman series. I finally found this movie. I loved seeing the major baddies ( Joker, Penguin, Riddler, and Catwoman) Adam West is the best Batman.

> 3 dayGreat vintage movie! The first Batman I ever meet, I saw the show in the 80s (Im 40) so this movie bring me good memories, in this movie you can see the Joker, Cat Woman, the Penguin and the Riddler, but sadly no one really shows their evilness, I prefer by far the 60s show.

> 3 dayOk, I remember the TV show and made sure that I was front and center of our black and white 19 TV. And, I also remember seeing this film in our local movie theater one Saturday matinee. And, I was too giddy at seeing my favorite TV show on a big screen and in color, that the details escaped me. So, one night recently, I saw the movie available on Prime. I clicked and sat back. I smiled and shook my head: how did I miss all these things? And, in the first 15 minutes I had a laundry list of mistakes and shortcomings. For example, there is a scene when Batman descends down a helicopters ladder--and for those of us who have rappelled or fast roped down a moving helicopter that is one of the scariest things I did--that I burst. Impossible. Then when Robin overshot the LZ of the yacht they were chasing and Batman sank into the water, what appears to be a shark--yes, it is very poorly made rubberized fake--attacks Batman. I said to myself, well, at the time, that was exciting! So, if you watched the TV show in black and white in 1966, saw this at the movie theater, take a trip, back in time, and sit back and smile.

> 3 dayBetween season one and season two of the campy Batman TV show(1965-1968), there was a Batman movie that played in movie theaters. There was an X Files movie released in movie theaters in 1997. The Joker, Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler are planning something big and Batman and Robin are our only hope! Adam West and Burt Ward do their usual hammy acting job as Batman and Robin. Wests deadpan humor makes me smile! This Batman movie is just as campy as the TV show. Batman almost throws a giant bomb into a marching band and some children! Batman yells, On some days, you just cant get rid of a bomb! Fox Home Video did a great job releasing this film on DVD. It was one of the first DVDs that I bought and it delivers in quality and quantity. I only paid $5 for it. Theres interviews with Adam West and Burt Ward as extras and movie trailers. Jerry Warren tried to emulate this film and the Batman TV show in The Wild World of Batwoman(1966). The film was so derivative that DC Comics sued him! Some prints of the movie are known as She Was a Hippy Vampire(1966). Batman The Movie(1966) is retro, campy fun.

Greater than one weekAs a family we love it year after year it is so tongue in check hilarious! Doesnt take itself seriously like the animated versions. Casting could not be better : Burgess Meredith; Caesar Romero; Frank Goshen ; and Adam West as Batman. Id mention them all and I would if I could remember them. (Im the grandma) Grandkids are 6, 8 and 10 years; their father is 41. We span the decades and we all love this beautiful comedy! Dont you remember that Batman music: da-na-da-na-da-na BATMAN. Slide down the Bat Escape to the waiting Bat-winged Chrysler Imperial or the likes. Pure unreal fun! Great Color super-real fiction.

> 3 dayI grew up with the comic books and then the series Wowd us as kids. Then Batman The Movie came out and we got to go see him on the big screen. I think this version is more clear and better for viewing than even what I saw in the theater all those years ago. The commentaries and extras are great for DC fans. And getting it for $5.00 as an add on to an order I was placing makes it an even better deal. It you like anything amd everything Batman and DC then this is a must for your collection. You wont regret it :-)
