> 3 dayThe product advertise no app, but it still demands you provide an email to register your device through their website. I was wrong to interpret no app as no third party snooping. It is not the manufacturers fault. I was looking for a wifi device that works without registration or setup without through an external website, but it seems this does not exist. It seems rather invasive to have my thermostat or light switch on the internet connected to data systems I do not control.

> 3 dayI purchased this product to add to my connected devices in my house. When I received the plug, it came with instructions that were convoluted and it gave multiple instructions for multiple apps and not one app made the plug work. Not to mention the fact that it would not, after all the hours I spent attempting to connect it to the apps and then to Alexa, it never connected to anything that would make it work. Fortunately, I purchased it through Amazon so I had the opportunity to return it.

> 3 dayWhat to say about this plug, first I would love to say it’s an affordable option for anyone that’s looking to bring a little bit more of ease and technology into their life. Second if you are a beginner trying to get in to the Amazon Alexa system this would be a great add on to buying with your Amazon “Alexa” echo or your fire tablet. And lastly The value for your money is there it’s easy, very friendly, simple and beautiful design

> 3 dayIt was a little complicated to set up but once I did it works fine. You must load the BroadLink app to schedule the plug. It works great with an echo dot.

> 3 dayLate delivery. Why do i pay for Amazon Prime? Ok, the important part. DOES NOT WORK WITH ALEXA. It works, on it’s own, after you install 2 different apps. Both from Broadlink. But then try to link it to Alexa and you’re out of luck. First it wants you to create an account so they can get your email address. Then it wants access to Bluetooth. Then it wants to go on and on. I gave up. Will work it from their app. Again, it works, but is needlessly complicated in setting up. It’s like trying to install a 3rd party app on an iPad. Ok so it was $20 cheaper than an Amazon SmartPlug (that are way overpriced) but it almost isn’t worth it. Buy it if you want a cheap alternative to Amazon but don’t expect it to work with Amazon. Oh yeah, did i mention setting a routine? 24 hour clock. Who made this thing? The French? ************** 5 months since purchased. Stopped working. ******************

> 3 dayI bought this three pack with a new echo dot. Echo was easy to install and set up. Pretty much did it itself. These smart plugs seemed easy but I wasted a whole day trying to set up following their included instructions and connecting via the broadlink network that appears in your WiFi when plug them in. Basically you go thru the steps telling the plug your 2.4 ghz network ssid to use and pw. Then you’re supposed to get a confirmation email from them and be good to go to set up in Alexa. FALSE. I tried a million times. Even turning off router access to 5 ghz. Googled for troubleshooting from other users and reviews. Watched many YT videos on it, even Broadlinks own official one. Finally called uncle and called Amazons “get expert help”. Not knocking her, the cs rep tried. Mainly making sure you’re using 2.4 ghz. Finally after 42 mins on phone she sends me link to send message to the seller directly. No kidding I worked in this from 8 am till like 4. Finally sent email to broad link. Woke up to a response next morning that asked if I tried downloading the broadlink app. What? Yes there was an app the broadlink WiFi link had me install and supposedly linked it to my Amazon acct which I’m not happy about. It’s called ihc. Seems fishy. I deleted it of course after it couldn’t connect to the plug. End of this long story. I downloaded the broadlink app and it recognized the plug and rest was easy. The plugs have been working for a day now so can’t comment on how reliable they are yet. I’m only using them to turn lights on and off for now so pretty basic. I’ll never buy from broadlink again and still may return these out of principle. Horrible of broadlink not to include proper instructions or admit their NoApp concept while great idea isn’t working apparently. Hope this saves someone else a lot of time!

> 3 dayI found this device far more difficult to set up than most wifi outlets. It took hours to get it to finally work. Once set up, it works fine.

> 3 dayThe written instructions that come with these are horrible...especially for those of us who do not have perfect eyesight. They are printed in a very small, light gray font that is difficult to see. I was able to set up the devices to work with Google Home but I did not see an option to install the Broadlink app for Android, only for IOS. My only use for the smart plugs is to turn lamps on and off a couple of times a day when I am away but it sure seems very difficult to perform a simple timer function using Google Home and the Broadlink Smart Plugs. Perhaps the Broadlink app allows you to do that, but the link in the email from Broadlink when you activate the plugs only takes you to an IOS app. I think I will continue to use the simple mechanical timers I have used for years...seems so much easier.
