Setup is not as easy as an Apple product, but not too far off. My second of these, I have one controlling a UV-C purification light in my HVAC system & one controlling a stand-alone de-humidifier unit. Neither of these items need to run 24/7 to get their jobs done, so I have timed operational schedules Routines set up in the Google Home App for each to turn on & off @ different times during the day & night, according to my needs. These enable me to reduce my power consumption & extend the working life of the equipment. Once set up on my WiFi network, these have never failed to turn ON or OFF at scheduled times and as far as I know, have had zero connectivity issues, or need to reset (nearly 1 year on one, several weeks on the other). Would definitely buy again & recommend!

Im not normally a fan of wifi devices, but these are impressive to say the least. Installing them is as simple as plugging them in, opening the connection to the device on the wifi of your phone and activating them with the phone. Ive had no trouble with them disconnecting, or failing. They work extremely well and the range they pick up is phenomenal. My phone will barely connect to the hub I have them on where theyre located but they work flawlessly. Im impressed. I have three of these in my shop a good 40 or more feet from my hub thats in my house. Im blown away that they dont lose connection that far away. Once theyre installed, all I had to do was look for them in Alexa and use them. No app needed. Thats impressive stuff right there.

Bought this because it was on sale for $5 and because it said No App. The last thing I wanted was to have to set up another account somewhere with another password to remember. Long-story-short: - Im pretty tech-savvy - I couldnt figure it out - I even watched a video that showed you how to set it up - I went through the set up following the video steps and I still ended up with a screen on my Android phone asking me to establish an account with Broadlink - Didnt bother putting it back in the box. I tossed the box, instructions, and the plug into the trash. Life is too short to get stressed out over a $5 plug. Ill stick to the Amazon branded plugs even if theyre more expensive. Theyre always putting them on sale, so thats a good opportunity to buy a few. But do not waste your time on this complicated mess.s

The product advertise no app, but it still demands you provide an email to register your device through their website. I was wrong to interpret no app as no third party snooping. It is not the manufacturers fault. I was looking for a wifi device that works without registration or setup without through an external website, but it seems this does not exist. It seems rather invasive to have my thermostat or light switch on the internet connected to data systems I do not control.

I spent all afternoon trying different ways to get it to connect to its own app or my google home. There was no instructions with it, I tried youtube for help.

Great product, easy to set up and gets the job done. Turn any dumb appliance into smart device. Using several plugs to control lights, old radios with Alexa.

I tried to follow instructions to install but didn’t work, had to download their app still in order to get the plugs installed properly.
