This doesnt work, wish I would have returned it immediately, now its too late after trying to get support on the product and all they said was try setting it up again. It basically works when you set it up, then its like it goes to sleep by the next morning and it wont wake up until you try it several times if you are lucky. Bought a Bond bridge and it works EVERY time. Also works with my ceiling fan and Broadlink NEVER worked with my ceiling fan. Save yourselves time and just go for the Bond bridge. Bonds support is far better as well and responds same day.

Note first if your doing home automation and use a dual band router like my Asus router use the guest network option that is specifically for Alexa and ifttt. This worked great I have the device controlling my hunter ceiling fans that came with a rf remotes. Had to do it custom but worked great also have it setup for most my hoMe entertainment center. Have not got it to work with direct tv yet but I will get it there. I also bought the cable with temp and humidity reading which is very cool.

I bought this mainly to control my LG AC wall unit and Fan, the installation was quite difficult but was able to complete. I have several smart devices through out my home, from smart bulbs, smart locks to security cameras so this was not my first time setting up a device and wanted it to work with Google Home. I am able to link it to Google and it even appears on the app but that is all, it just wont work. I even tried linking to IFTTT and the same. It can turn off and on the AC unit through the app with no problem ,but I bought it to work with voice command.

Works as described. I have all my tvs and anything with ir support connect to it. So I can Simple say, “Alexa, it’s Movie time” and it will active my screen for my projector and anything else I have set to that scene

The only reason Im not giving this product a 5* review is that they are misleading with how it works with Alexa, and that it has really a weird learning curve. Other than that I LOVE this thing! Ill try to teach you what Ive learned so that, hopefully, you can love this device as much as I do. Firstly, if the item is in the database, and you add it in via the database, then it will become a scene immediately. It has to be a scene to connect to Alexa. Also, dont forget you need to add broadlink as a skill in your alexa app as well. If its not an item in the database then you can add it as a user define. I prefer to add items as a user define, Ive found that it works better for me in the ifttt and alexa apps. If it is a user define you must make a scene for each individual button you add IF you want that button to have voice control. Lets say my fan remote has 3 buttons: power, oscillate, and speed. I wanted to be able to tell my fan to turn on and oscillate, but I dont care about controlling the speed of the fan with my voice. I would only make two scenes: one to turn on the fan, and one to make it oscillate. I could still control the speed via the broadlink app or the remote itself, but I wouldnt be able to voice control it. Lets learn about voice control, since its a little weird too. You can only turn scenes on in Alexa. Meaning I cant say turn off fan you have to say turn on fan off. As a side note, all this device can do is emulate the buttons on your remote so technically you should just say, Turn on fan to get it to turn off, since most power buttons turn the device on and off. Controlling devices vocally through scenes themselves is hard and extremely confusing. So make it a TON easier on yourself by using alexa routines. Routines are life. I have 3 different devices with three different remotes that I have to use every time I want to watch TV or play video games. Instead of having to fumble remotes I can say three words to Alexa and she will turn my TV on, my soundbar on, and the TV switched to the correct aux device almost immediately (pics of what some of my routines look like). It operates from top to bottom, so first it turns on my TV, then my sound bars, then switches to the auxiliary cord my nintendo switch or fire stick is plugged into (depending on which routine I trigger). Most of my routines are voice activated but they can be activated by time, action, location etc. My smart home, and remote count, is drastically improved by this affordable device.

Latest IOS App on iPhone 11 w/latest firmware would not get past first step in adding device. Kept saying connect to your homes Wi-Fi. I was connected to a 2.4Ghz SSID w/no complementary 5Ghz SSID. Called there 5x24hr support line to no avail. They never answer, it goes to some Spanish voicemail. All the videos online like like they are using a much older version of the broad link app.. I also dislike that I have to give the app permissions for geo location on top of bluetooth which both seem unnecessary. I get the vibe that this thing is just a cheap data mining utility for some Chinese company. Doesnt have a mature product feel. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend putting this on a segmented guest network. It only needs to communicate outbound unless you intend to use the Roku feature. I was excited there seems to be decent support for some advanced things like home-bridge etc.. but those are all worthless if the device wont even connect to the network. Im in the process of returning and going with a bond fan bridge. Unfortunately it costs 3x as much but at least I KNOW that works.

I ended up adding the Sewell IR Blaster (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074CNWJZV/) so I can control everything. ibroadlink.com/support - FYI your downloads dont work. Roku 4K streaming stick no codes, and cant learn - sent email. Optoma GT1090HR no codes, manually learned - screen uses RF different vendor unable learn codes - sent email. Unable to add additional buttons after setting up a universal Remote for device - sent email. Looking forward to hearing back. Hopefully once all codes are done the scenesmacros work. Also, very difficult to add the RM4 Pro device - it took about 20x attempts. It would have been nice to simply scan a QR and add the device vs. the manual setup that was required.

Where has this product been all my AV life. Long are we pushed to products that are okay, but largely too expensive to consider truly. I have used a lot to make my home theater a bit more easy to work with and use daily, but this little low cost item is one of the few ah ha moments I have been suggested by a friend. I thought the only real considerations were Harmony in this segment, and dont get me wrong, I like those, but for simplicity sake and such a low cost, this cant be beat. Paired with my Roku Ultra, Viewsonic 4K 150 Inch Projector, Yamaha RX-V685, and surround speaker setup. Loved it, considering more to help with remote and home automation.

This works great. Controls my roller shade, mini split a/c unit, TV, and surround sound zvox. And it works with Alexa. At night I tell Alexa to turn the family room off and the shade goes down and all other items turn off It’s easy to set up and it works great. The only thing is I wish they would add a usb power module and come in white.
