Infant Optics DXR-8 Add-on Camera (Not Compatible with DXR-8 PRO)

Good system. All around happy with this purchase. We scan between two kids and everything functions as described. My only caution/complaint is the temperature function. The thermometer attached to each camera is way off. It overstates the temperature in our kids’ rooms by 4-5 degrees. Here we were trying to cool their rooms to a comfortable sleeping temperature and then wondering why the rooms and our kids were uncomfortably cold. Once we put Google Nest sensors in the rooms and saw the real temperature in there, we realized these cameras were to blame. I’m not sure if the camera thermometer is just bad tech or if the camera emits enough heat to affect the thermometer, but either way, they are unreliable.

This is a great baby monitor and the customer service provided is outstanding. I was unaware that the LEDs that provided night vision were not working on my camera until after the warranty had expired. After reaching out to customer service, they helped me troubleshoot the issue and when it couldn’t be fixed, they helped me to get a new camera. I can’t say enough good things about their customer service. Pros: -great night vision - zoom capability - stand alone monitor that is not connected to WiFi - ability to turn off screen but still hear sound - great sound and picture quality - great customer service Cons: - occasional loss of signal when streaming videos over WiFi - limited range between camera and monitor - does not filter out white noise

This is the3rd or 4th monitor we have purchased, 2nd recently (2 prior were many years ago!). Did a lot of research and had ordered another monitor, comet o find out it was as straightforward as synching a space mission... Needless to say, we returned it because as a mom with a newborn the LAST thing I want to do is have to rely on someone else to help me set up the cameras, beeping sound were annoying and eventually would bother baby and me... Did MUCH MORE research and landed on this monitor! WE LOVE IT! Easy to set up, functional, intuitive and VOILA, cameras are ready and dont unpair!! Like I said, Peace of mind and even use the other camera to help see my older kiddos while I am with baby. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for newborns, older babies or kiddos. We also bought the wide angle lens. The whole experience has been night and day compared to the summer monitor we had bought. Good luck!

I really love this camera. The night vision on it is great as this is what we see the most. During the day when the lights are on in my kids rooms the picture quality is really great it shows the colors of the crib sheets and other objects well. Having multiple children i love that there is a scan setting and every 10 seconds or so it switches rooms thus allowing overnight observation of all rooms. It does have the talk back feature which can be utilized but we do not very often unless we are playing around. we have not tried out the different lenses but will shortly be switching out to the wide view lens. Overall we LOVE this camera, definitely worth the money. it also does not run off of wifi which means it can’t be hacked (bug plus for us) and the battery life has on average lasted 6-8 hours or so (this is hard to say as im not always super close when it dies) the volume can also be turned up fairly loud. We really love the infant optics products. Another added bonus to all infant optics products is their customer service is out of this world amazing! My parent unit quit working and they replaced and had the new unit to me within 2 days of shipping the old one. They are very friendly and even after receiving the new parent unit they ensured to email me to check that everything was working appropriately and I didn’t have any dither needs (this was awesome)! I will continue to buy their products and I am constantly recommending them to friends!

Works great. We bought the original system 3 years ago for my son. Was a little worried this camera wouldnt connect but decided to try rather than buy a whole new system. Great news, it connected!

I’ve had this system for 2 years now. I originally bought the camera and monitor but when my son got older and became a toddler we bought a second camera with a wide angle lens for the playroom. This system has worked great for us with little problems. I did have to replace the charger after a year as it didn’t work. But the battery itself was fine. My only complaint is that it doesn’t reach as far as it says. My sons room is upstairs on the opposite side of our 3600sq ft home from our master bedroom, and sometimes if I put my phone next to the monitor at night it will beep that it is out of range. Might just be the walls, but we also can’t walk past our neighbors house and watch either. We like to go over for a drink after bedtime to the house directly nextdoor to us (and our houses are like 10 feet apart). It works but only in certain parts of their house.

So this is our second monitor as we had a different monitor for our first baby. We decided on this monitor because the reviews are excellent. I gave the monitor a 4 star instead of a 5 star for two reasons. The first, I would have preferred a little bit larger screen. That said, the camera quality is so good that it isnt that big of a deal. The second reason is although there is this really cool feature called sleep where you can turn the monitor screen off but still have sound pumping through the monitor, there is a bright light on the side of the monitor that ends up being worse than having the picture on the screen on all night. Otherwise, we have really enjoyed the monitor. It was a breeze to set up and like I already said, the picture/camera quality is excellent.

We were looking for a second camera since baby sleeps in our room andthe nursery. Set up super easy and gives us a great view as hes sleeping

I would highly recommend this product to any of my friends and family. The camera and monitor is extremely easy to install and very user friendly. I just recently added an additional camera and it was very simple to set up. Their customer service is also exceptional and very efficient! I needed a new charger cable for my second camera and got a replacement within a few days. I was blown away with how easy they made it to contact them and resolve my issue. I highly recommend this baby monitor.

We purchased this as a second camera for our Infant Optics DXR-8. It’s very easy to add cameras with this system. The picture and sound quality is excellent, and we can easily keep an eye on the kids via the monitor from all parts of house, including the basement. The range even includes our back patio. The battery life is much better than our previous monitor, which always needed to be plugged in after an hour or so. We did have an issue with the night vision degrading significantly after almost a year of use. However, the Infant Optics customer service rep I worked with was very understanding and replaced both our cameras, even the one we had lost the receipt for. After going to battle with a different manufacturer over our last monitor, I have to say it was a breath of fresh air to have a company simply do the right thing. We’re very satisfied with our purchase.
