JanSport Big Student Backpack-School, Travel, or Work Bookbag-with 15-Inch-Laptop Compartment, Black, One Size

Around halfway through my year, the zipper on my backpack broke. It opens randomly while I’m walking and is a little inconvenient. Otherwise it’s great and I 100% recommended.

. . . with secret pockets and hidden areas. But, it has everything I need. First of all I was pleased to discover that it shed water. We have been having a rainy season in my area. Then it has three main compartments for larger items. The one against the back would hold a laptop. Today, I carried home two bottles of wine and a cucumber in the middle compartment. On the front of the backpack are three zippered pockets. One of them is good for cellphones. The middle one carries my wallet since the zipper is recessed and a little harder to get at . . . in case of pickpockets. The front zippered pocket is big enough for my kindle. On the side is a net pocket which carries my face masks. The zippers are sturdy and the clasps are metalic with ties on them to grasp easily. The shoulder straps are well cushioned and comfortable. I still wish for secret pockets but I dont get everything I want.

You may not care that the pocket layout has changed if you arent used to having your things in their allotted places. The one good improvement is that the mesh for the water bottle holder is now taller and stronger so your bottle wont fall out when its full and you are putting the back pack on. I would much prefer some more small compartments that all the big ones of this current design.

I can confirm that this product is NOT an authentic JanSport product. It is COUNTERFEIT. I purchased this backpack in September of 2022. The zipper broke a month later, so I contacted JanSport to check for warranty information. Per JanSport policy, I paid out of pocket to ship it to the warranty center in Uvalde, Tx. I received the backpack a few weeks later, un-repaired, with a note stating the following, WE ARE SORRY TO HAVE TO INFORM YOU THAT YOUR BACKPACK IS NOT AN AUTHENTIC PRODUCT MADE BY JANSPORT. IT IS AN IMITATION. AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY (see picture attached).

The bookbag was great for my 6th grade daughter while it lasted. I bought these knowing jansport lasted a long time when I got mine at her age. This one didnt even last one school year before one of the straps broke.

I got this for my daughter. She is tough on things and this is a durable product that I expect to last through high school. It comes with a lifetime warranty so we shall see.

This is a good sturdy back pack

Be careful ordering this. The construction seems fine, but we received a different color then ordered, and the Jansport patch is upside down. Not sure it I will keep it, as it is for my daughter, so its up to her. I paid a lot for shipping as the color she originally wanted was only available from non prime sellers. I wont make that mistake again.
