I am a Electrician by trade, through out my 22 years of experience 95% of my tools are Klein. I have owned about 3 pair of the Klein testers due to me loosing them, forgetting them on a job etc. Out of the 3 I have owned, EVERY pair ends up having issues when turning the wheel on as the meters will not come on. You will have to turn them off and on 2 or 3 times and sometime you have to tap the meters on your hand. I have replaced the batteries when this occurs and it makes no difference, its something within the meters. This has happened on every pair I have owned from Klein. My next set of meters will be of a different brand as this gets very frustrating when in a tight spot high in the air trying to check voltage. Sometimes this makes me second guess the readout.

The CL800 has the feel and weight of a professional tool. I have a large solar battery bank and this tool fit the need for measuring: the DC current to and from the batteries, the solar array, the inverter/chargers, and the genset. I feel that the tool is fairly priced for the consumer market, but is durable for more than average occasional use. The voltage meter and temperature meters are a plus of course, but I will use this tool along with the Klein MM800 multimeter.

If youre considering whether or not to buy this multimeter, then I credit you with knowing the product or having done some research... Otherwise youd be looking at cheeper models. If youre a professional electrician then you no doubt no how this little gem stacks up against the competition. There are meters of all flavors and features, and in numerous brands. What this CL800 can accomplish with its amazing features is a bargain for this price. And no need buy a carrying case, because it comes with one. I ended up buying an additional case, following the recommendation that a carrying case was frequently bought with it. I use the extra case to put cables and accessories in. So, it worked out anyway. Im not an electrician, but the electrical repairs I do around my house saves me $$$. The meter pays for itself. I love it!

Good meter and fairly accurate so far. I will admit to being a Fluke fan because of my life time use in the Navy and personal life. Every other cheap meter I have ever used had let me down.

DC hall effect current mode is unreliable. Difficult to get to and needs constant resets to -0-. Move the meter around - you need to reset it again. Leave it alone for a while (minutes) - you need to reset it again. Just by switching from AC to DC mode I get 1 amp reading with nothing in the clamp.

Very straight forward multi meter ....... Good quality, very accurate. In my opinion, this is an excellent meter and it has become my go to tool ...... the more expensive Fl$$e does not seem to be as sturdy and it has been delighted to the truck tool box!
