> 3 dayThe toner auto shuts off in short order. You could be tracing with the toner off. The probe turns on and is always on low, meaning you must turn up the volume every time its turned on. Fluke is better by far.

> 3 dayGreat little kit. Had been having trouble with coax outlets so bought this and hooked up to a spare short piece of coax. Immediately showed a short...new house so thought maybe a nail had caught the cable...turns out the contractor messed up and got the ground shield in contact with centerwire during install (pic attached after I cut it off)...wasted 3 weekends looking for this and found it in 5 minutes with tester. Replaced connector and tester confirmed it was good so I went into attic to locate the other end out of a bundle of cables and found it within a few seconds on about 100 run of cable...tone started getting louder as I got close (within couple feet) to cable then loud strong tone as soon I touched the correct connector. Very impressed!

> 3 dayHard to calibrate. Also hard to narrow down wires. On certain parts of the confirmed wire it would only make sound intermittently, so you can easily skip target wire by accident. Spend more money get a better product

Greater than one weekI had to figure out my sprinkler system wiring and this tool made it very simple. Very user friendly and time saver. I absolutely recommend it.

> 3 dayYou have to get it just right to get a reading. And when it did work, it worked on 4 breakers. Ended up having to shut each breaker off and then see if I got the one I wanted.

> 3 dayItems works well, I have never used a toner that was perfect, they can all be a bit staticky if that is a word. This did do what it was supposed to do though. Let me trace some 110v electrical wires in my home. At one time I used these for work for IT cables often. They will let you trace any copper wire but you do need access to the actual copper part of the wire with either the clamps or the connector.

> 3 dayI may have missed it but Im not sure why in all the verbiage on the site they just dont say FOR LOW VOLTAGE CIRCUITS ONLY and or NOT FOR 120 VOLT CIRCUITS. You have to wait for the product to arrive and then read the manual which is quit clear about the volt usage. Returning product.

Greater than one weekEasy setup and accurate. Had two electrical outlets with no power. Used instrument to verify the second one was a slave to the first by toning the hot (black) and common (white). In an outlet box across the room that had power, found an unconnected cable that suspected was to the first dead outlet. Did not know why the cable was disconnected by the prior owner. Toned the black wire of that cable to outlet one hot (black) wire but noted it toned to the common (white) wire too. PROBLEM was short in cable, which is reason they disconnected it. If I didn’t use this tool, I may have connected the cable, powered it up and ended up with a fire before the breaker tripped. GREAT TOOL that I plan to use on my sprinkler system to trace wiring to a dead solenoid.

> 3 dayThis unit will only trace out open ended wires. if youre trying to trace something connected it will not give a signal. But other than that its a nice unit.
