the tool functions well, and has some nice features. While i was walking the wand fell out of my tool belt and hit a tile floor. The tip broke off of the wand reducing the sensitivity to almost useless. I am disappointed in a tool, built to do work, breaking after a 3ft drop

Item not working. All came with batteries pre installed and everything. Changed the batteries and still not working. This person that pupal this into a box full of tape, could not just test it before sending it out. Avoid this seller

It emits a radio signal which wants to travel through the wire youre chasing, but will bleed over into other wires in the same bundle so watch for that. You can listen for the strength of the signal from each wire in the bundle and determine which one you are connected to on the other end. Just be aware of this and youll enjoy the tool.

The toner auto shuts off in short order. You could be tracing with the toner off. The probe turns on and is always on low, meaning you must turn up the volume every time its turned on. Fluke is better by far.

Great value for the price and great tool to find the problem if you know how to work it.

This toner works exactly as advertised. Lost power to several places in a house we recently rented. The landlord had three different people come to try and fix it. No luck. I hooked the toner up to the dead socket at the end of the line. Checked all the dead outlets, switches, and lights. Got a good signal at all. Started checking powered outlets in the general area. Found one with a signal. Turned off power disconnected wires and toned out to make sure. Reconnected wires to screws on outlet instead of back slide in connections. Turned on power problem solved.

It states that its for RJ45 but its not. The only plug that I comes with is an RJ11 and even though you can force an RJ11 in an RJ45 jack, eventually you will damage pins 1 and 8.
