I upgraded to this from the original Paperwhite. While I loved my Paperwhite, it had no backlight and was showing sings of wear and tear. After a lot of research, I chose Kobo due to the native overdrive configuration. To be able to check out library books directly to my device was amazing. I love this thing! Its quick, snappy, I CAN READ AT NIGHT, and the ability to click buttons to turn the page is something I didnt realize I needed. I also love the placement of the power button on the back. I never accidentally lock it while reading. The Kobo store is more pricey than the kindle store (makes sense because kindle works out deals with their authors) but they have sales and your points build up quickly. I believe that it also accepts epubs natively if you need to sideload books bought on other platforms.

Works great when it works. i got this for library books only. Dislike: *missing books from the librarys catalog (e.g. things i have taken out on libby do not appear on the kobo). *buggy. sometimes typing is incredibly frustating. itll interpret my figure tap as several different keys all over the key pad. *sometimes it synchs with overdrive. sometimes it wont. no idea what to do. wait? come back in a few days? very frustrating. i think ill get rid of it instead. *its kinda annoying how this is set up to push you towards for the kobo store. why do i have to log into walmarts website to set this up? im not going to buy books. i go this for the library books only. but i have to jump through hoops to get there! Likes *good battery power. *i did like the e-reader reading experience more than i thought i would. *way better than reading on a tablet! easier on the eyes Conclusion: this is not for me. i gave the ereader a try. back to books for me! ill check back in a few years hopefully they will figure out how to make this technology work. the concept is promising, but its a clunky buggy piece of hardware that trys to push you to buy books from them. WARNING: amazon wont let you return this. it started acting buggy now and its too late to return. so be careful.

I switched from my kindle paperwhite 10th gen to a kobo libra 2 and I have no regrets. Ironically this is my best amazon purchase. I love the white clean look to mine, the buttons have spoiled me but I also just tap and swipe. I love how the kobo tells you how long youve read and how many books you have completed, those tiny rewards. Also access to overdrive on the kobo! Game changer. Kobo doesnt bombard you with book suggestions like kindle does so I feel more comfortable checking my home screen. Plus the organization by most recent books, authors, etc its superior. And for kobo, you can import books from non kobo to your kobo, like repubs, etc. I use calibre to organize my ebook library and adding the books to kobo is wonderful, stress free when you figure it out. With calibre I can edit the book cover which is a blessing because some ebook covers on kindle....arent the ones I want. So changing them to be what I want to see if glorious. I love my kobo, and am happy to leave the amazon kindle world. Yes kobo has less titles but every small company starts somewhere and kobo has better ethics and morals than amazon does.

After couple kindles and trying to deal with missing features or annoyances I decided to give this reader a try. Its much better, reads more formats, and seems easier to use than couple kindles I had in the past. If you want to read stuff that is not in kindle/amazon store this reader is a much better option. Together with calibre its easy to organize books by series, something I couldnt easily do with Kindle (unless you buy books from the store).

I have been using this for quite a few months now and I love it! Comfortable to hold. Easy to adjust font and font size. Amazing battery life. I also bought the recommended cover which is very nice. I use the foldable cover as a stand to read hands free while eating breakfast. I would also recommend that.

Very crisp screen. Lighting is awesome and I love, love, love the page turn buttons and it’s easy to hold. I’m returning for a few reasons I have multiple library cards and the built in overdrive only lets me sync with one at a time. I use Goodreads and would have to input books manually. It is just too much work for me to switch out of the Amazon ecosystem. Too bad. This is a really good ereader. If you have one library card, if this is your first ereader, if you don’t use Goodreads I highly recommend.

This is my first e-Reader and I am really enjoying it. Pros: - Very light, which makes it super easy to use in any situation, like laying in bed - USB C charging - Screen brightness & color options - Font options - Ability to side load books from your computer - The screen itself - Battery life - Charging speed - Comfortable to hold one or two handed - Book cover is shown when the device is in sleep mode, which looks nice Cons: - None whatsoever as of right now

I upgraded from a Kobo Aura One to the Libra 2. You might ask why I consider going from a 7.8 device to a 7 device an upgrade. I do, because I have tiny hands and never realized just how much I HATED holding the Aura One until I had the smaller Libra 2 for comparison. I had originally bought the Sage, but due to the battery life and the sheer weight of the thing, I returned it. I love the design of the Libra 2 with the side buttons. I had always thought that my Aura One would be better if I could just hold it on the side, its just where I naturally want to hold an e-reader, but due to the thin side bezels on the Aura One, that wasnt possible. One thing I will say is that the Libra 2 feels better with a case on it. You can get the official case, or a third-party case here on Amazon for half the price, and from what I gather, weighs less than the official case as well. I got one from BOZHUORUI that has a pretty starry pattern on it, but there are plenty of other options at this point. I love the Libra 2 for its size and weight. It also has an AMAZING screen, and great battery life. Sure, the last gen model H20 might be lighter than the 2, but I think the 2 with the case I got for it, is the sweet spot for what an e-reader should weigh, at least for me, personally. I have been reading a lot more since I bought the Libra 2, compared to my Aura One. If you have a Kobo device thats several years old, dont hesitate to upgrade! If you have a last-gen model, its probably not worth it. I cant do any comparisons with Kindle devices, as I dont own any, but the Libra 2 costs less than the Paperwhite Signature Edition (which also has 32gb so is comparable) and significantly less than the Oasis (which has the page turn buttons on the side), and has the amazing screen and everything.

I comes from kindle. And the kobo libra 2 just blow my mind. Its so much crispier. After looking at kindle screen for years now up to the latest gen, the kobo libra 2 display is the best one. Text are so crispier and less eyes strain.
