Great quality and speed, and a brand that I trust. This switch is almost as fast copying from PC to PC as it is to copy large files from my SSD to my 2TB SATA hard drive on my PC - very fast and stable! This switch has some weight to it so it stays put, unlike some of the plastic garbage out there that only lasts a year or so before it breaks down. I use this switch as the backbone of our house network with 5+ computers right off the modem/router with no problems so far. I highly recommend it! Update: Six months after buying this switch it still has the great performance as before but I am having problems with Internet interruptions by my cable provider and the problem is I have to unplug and plug it back in to get it to work again after a disruption. This happens too much with my ISP so it has become unusable for me. So, if you have stable Internet provider like AT&T Uverse this switch works great but, if you have an unstable Internet service provider such as cable with this switch you may have the same problem as me. I now run my network directly of the cable modem but I have a D-Link model DGS-2208 8 Port Green Ethernet switch in one room that still runs perfect after seven months so I think D-Link is a better brand and Linksys may still have some great products but this one doesnt work for me anymore. I only took off one star for the problem I am having with this switch but, let the buyer beware.

Bought this to add to my Starlink service. I have all my routers connected to this unit. Works great.

Works like a Charm! Linksys 5port gateway is one of the best kinds out there to split your connection in half- even for gaming!

I see many reviews complaining the ports are on the front and not the back, If those people new what they were buying the complaining would stop. This is a network switch that is designed to be used in a data center/ server room. Am surprised the complainers even bought it when the pics clearly show the ports on the opposite side of the power input. This switch work great and does what it is made to do.

This is a quality metal enclosure switch, good visibility on the indicator lights, and easy set up. The metal enclosure provides enough weight to the unit that it wont slide around from the force of the attached cables. Works very well overall.

Works exactly as it should. Simple Plug-and-Play. Could not be any simpler! Now have my entrainment center hard wired. And a free/empty port to plug in another something. No more lag in gaming and watching movies on smart TV. Even being used at the same time.

Unfortunately, this switch did not work for me. I have a satellite box in the living room that I am trying to get connected to the internet. Since I dont have ethernet cable ran through the house, and the box is not wireless, I have to use the Netgear Powerline 1200 adapters. Had problems with a Netgear and D-Link switch losing packets. Saw the good reviews for this switch so thought Id give it a try. Packet loss is still happening. Whats weird about this problem is if I connect an Apple Airport Extreme in bridge mode to the satellite box, no packet loss occurs. If someone sees this review and can offer up an explanation in the comments, it would sure be helpful. I would imagine that if you have cat5e or cat6 cable ran through the house, the switch would work fine. However, if you are using a powerline adapter, you may want to consider using a router set to bridge mode as your switch. For some reason, this seems to work better. To be fair, Im giving the Linksys switch 3 stars because I cant positively confirm there isnt another problem causing the packet loss.

I am using this switch to link multiple computers to a single point-of-use Ethernet drop. This switch has been able to keep up with multiple computers running over 400MB/s speeds, sometimes up to 500MB/s - throttled by the provider, not my equipment. This was well worth the purchase price.

This is a vefry basic, well desgined swith excepot for one unfortunate feature that prevented me from being able to use it in my home office IT equipment setup. The power jack is on the opposite side from the eight RJ45 ethernet jacks. Had it been on the same side I could have used it. The photo on Amazon shows only the side where the RJ45 jacks are located; it does not show the opposite side of the unit where the power jack is located. And I didnt make the correct inference when I saw it and ordered. Seems like a minor quibble but in the location where this was to have been placed, all of the cords and cables need to be out of site - i.e., on the back. I make a point of cabling (tying together) cable and cord bundles behind my IT shelf so as to hide the wiring in my office. Actually I wanted a switch where the front panel has an led for each port that indicates traffic, and all wiring connections in the rear. This one is a great buy with usual Linksys quality, but a bit too basic for me. If I could hide the entire switch that would be fine but thats not what I want nor is it practial in my IT furniture arrangement. So this one is being returned. Ill search for a fancier unit.

Bought from Amazon. Hooked up the unit, connected a cable to each ports, all the ports, except port 2 did not light up. Called Linkys @ 1-877-855-6899, option Small/Medium Business Department. After getting preliminary information on the switch, we walked through and tested the unit over the phone. Linksys determined a replacement unit will be sent. All was handled in that one phone call. Representatives I spoke with were courteous, genuinely understood my needs and strived to resolve. Hope you will not have any issues with your unit; however, if you do, outlined above was my experience.
