> 3 dayBought from Amazon. Hooked up the unit, connected a cable to each ports, all the ports, except port 2 did not light up. Called Linkys @ 1-877-855-6899, option Small/Medium Business Department. After getting preliminary information on the switch, we walked through and tested the unit over the phone. Linksys determined a replacement unit will be sent. All was handled in that one phone call. Representatives I spoke with were courteous, genuinely understood my needs and strived to resolve. Hope you will not have any issues with your unit; however, if you do, outlined above was my experience.

> 3 dayThis is my second 8 port switch from Linksys. I have daisy chained it to my first 8 port Linksys and have several devices now operating off my Spectrum Router. Works good and is well made.

> 3 dayI tried to set up a wired network in my house with a router, the problem was that I was connecting it to a wireless router as well and even when I turned off router functionality it created problems for me. Once I did a little research, I found the best way to fix my problems was to find a switch and set it up as part of my network. Everything works great now. My set up is as follows: Cable modem -> Airport Extreme -> Linksys 8-Port Switch -> home distribution Having the router in between the modem and the switch was the key to getting this set up properly

> 3 dayI already owned an SE3016 (the 16-port version of this switch) for my primary network, so when I had a backup internet connection set up I figured that the 8-port version would be my best bet. And I was right! This is a very good switch. Its plug-and-play, no setup required, and its performance is excellent. One thing I especially like about it is that you have a visual indicator of whats going on with the link, most notably that its green for gigabit and amber for 10/100.

> 3 dayGreat quality and speed, and a brand that I trust. This switch is almost as fast copying from PC to PC as it is to copy large files from my SSD to my 2TB SATA hard drive on my PC - very fast and stable! This switch has some weight to it so it stays put, unlike some of the plastic garbage out there that only lasts a year or so before it breaks down. I use this switch as the backbone of our house network with 5+ computers right off the modem/router with no problems so far. I highly recommend it! Update: Six months after buying this switch it still has the great performance as before but I am having problems with Internet interruptions by my cable provider and the problem is I have to unplug and plug it back in to get it to work again after a disruption. This happens too much with my ISP so it has become unusable for me. So, if you have stable Internet provider like AT&T Uverse this switch works great but, if you have an unstable Internet service provider such as cable with this switch you may have the same problem as me. I now run my network directly of the cable modem but I have a D-Link model DGS-2208 8 Port Green Ethernet switch in one room that still runs perfect after seven months so I think D-Link is a better brand and Linksys may still have some great products but this one doesnt work for me anymore. I only took off one star for the problem I am having with this switch but, let the buyer beware.

> 3 dayFioptics install a Google gateway which had only one output jack. I needed two. This switch did more than I hoped and now I am getting 800+ Mbps on both outputs.

> 3 dayI am using this switch to link multiple computers to a single point-of-use Ethernet drop. This switch has been able to keep up with multiple computers running over 400MB/s speeds, sometimes up to 500MB/s - throttled by the provider, not my equipment. This was well worth the purchase price.

15-04-2025I got one of these about 1.5 years ago and it was great. All of the cords were on one side so I had it in my stack of components and I could still see all the lights. It was nice and convenient. Unfortunately I lost it. So I bought a new one about a week ago. They have since changed it. At some point, they updated the image on this page but you can still see the original product in the description. The product is still the same. a gigabit switch. But now it is like EVERY other switch out there, including the Linksys business switch that is $10 cheaper. It has the cables and lights on one side and the power on the other. As a result, it just got stuffed behind the AV system and hopefully I will never have to see it.

> 3 dayI have 3 of se3008 for different areas of my house. when I ordered the last one it ended up being a version 2 ( I didnt see it anywhere in the post) the difference is the ports and lights are on the front instead of the back which I dont like at all. the v1 has the ports and power on the back and status lights on the front which made it cleaner for my application. the unit is still a great unit though.
