> 3 dayGreat quality and speed, and a brand that I trust. This switch is almost as fast copying from PC to PC as it is to copy large files from my SSD to my 2TB SATA hard drive on my PC - very fast and stable! This switch has some weight to it so it stays put, unlike some of the plastic garbage out there that only lasts a year or so before it breaks down. I use this switch as the backbone of our house network with 5+ computers right off the modem/router with no problems so far. I highly recommend it! Update: Six months after buying this switch it still has the great performance as before but I am having problems with Internet interruptions by my cable provider and the problem is I have to unplug and plug it back in to get it to work again after a disruption. This happens too much with my ISP so it has become unusable for me. So, if you have stable Internet provider like AT&T Uverse this switch works great but, if you have an unstable Internet service provider such as cable with this switch you may have the same problem as me. I now run my network directly of the cable modem but I have a D-Link model DGS-2208 8 Port Green Ethernet switch in one room that still runs perfect after seven months so I think D-Link is a better brand and Linksys may still have some great products but this one doesnt work for me anymore. I only took off one star for the problem I am having with this switch but, let the buyer beware.

> 3 dayGreat little switch. Now that we are dealing with Covid-19, I found myself and family working from home. I ran some Ethernet since WiFi was not getting me the speeds that I needed for conference calls and VPN connections. I used this switch in the system and it works great. In the evenings my boys use it when gaming as there is only one shared Ethernet wire at that location. Neither have complained about any speed issues or loss in mindless gaming ability. The drool is still trickling out the sides of their mouths, so I guess its treating them well.

> 3 dayGreat product for extending your wired system…you do lose a little bandwidth, but still better if Wi-Fi isn’t strong

> 3 dayUnfortunately, this switch did not work for me. I have a satellite box in the living room that I am trying to get connected to the internet. Since I dont have ethernet cable ran through the house, and the box is not wireless, I have to use the Netgear Powerline 1200 adapters. Had problems with a Netgear and D-Link switch losing packets. Saw the good reviews for this switch so thought Id give it a try. Packet loss is still happening. Whats weird about this problem is if I connect an Apple Airport Extreme in bridge mode to the satellite box, no packet loss occurs. If someone sees this review and can offer up an explanation in the comments, it would sure be helpful. I would imagine that if you have cat5e or cat6 cable ran through the house, the switch would work fine. However, if you are using a powerline adapter, you may want to consider using a router set to bridge mode as your switch. For some reason, this seems to work better. To be fair, Im giving the Linksys switch 3 stars because I cant positively confirm there isnt another problem causing the packet loss.

Greater than one weekI was a big fan of Linsys gear until they were absorbed by Cisco. I ended up trashing everything but some 8 port hubs that were really good. I updated my routers (Linksys that work very well but have their own design issues) and wanted to update my hubs as well. I have both 5 port and 8 port versions. These are metal which makes them feel more substantial somehow. Linksys made the connection lights different colors to reflect port connection speed... a nice touch. If i could see the lights, that is. They are also wall mount which is a must for me. But the Cisco thinking shows up in the implementation. The unit cant decide if it is a consumer or business product. For starters, the power connection is opposite the ports. Well, ok. Now I had to decide if i reroute some of my cables or the power connections. Would have been an easy choice but the DC plug is not a right angle... its straight which means it sticks out and will be in the way. I decided to forgo looking at the status lights so I didnt have to do gymnastics with my cables and mounted it in a way that something probably wont snag the power connection and kill the ports. Would be nice if Linksys included a template... Next the power block has the prongs inline with the long side. Um, kinda blocks multiple outlets unless you are using a power strip with the outlets turned 90 degrees. Or you happen to have an outlet at the end of your surge protector. Not well though out. I ended up getting some short ext cords. All in all a decent little unit. But it has some (in my opinion) serious design/usability deficiencies.

Greater than one weekI used to use my old routers as switches thinking it was the same as using an unmanaged switch...oh I was wrong. I am using my 2 switches with my two towers
