> 3 dayI need a switch because my cable TV provider issued a new set top device that used an ethernet cable instead of coaxial. Rather than sacrifice a connection directly into my smart TV, I bought this switch. Sometimes these Amazon reviews are a curse, causing information overload = plus the crush of too many divergent opinions. But after reviewing a number of similar items I found many reviewers report that some of them are falsely described as gigabit devices when their actual labeled speed is much less. Thats why I went with Linksys. Its a well made component from a reputable manufacturer. The product is a little more expensive, but worth it in my book.

> 3 dayLove this unit. Plug and play is always the way to go. Solid metallic body construction. Can be rack mounted, wall mounted, or just set on desk, table, shelf, etc. I ordered this switch to use with all my devices in entertainment system in one room. Was so impressed with it, I ordered another for the basement feed to send to other points in the house. Now I have an 8 port switch on my router, ( linksys EA9500 ), feeding an 8 port switch that feeds into another 8 port switch sending gig lines throughout the house. Have had both switches for close to a year with no problems and at this price point thats a win win.

Greater than one weekMy router had ports that were capped. But after installing the switch it opened up the port and allow me to use my full bandwidth for gaming. No more lagging or getting kicked out of the server.

Greater than one weekFioptics install a Google gateway which had only one output jack. I needed two. This switch did more than I hoped and now I am getting 800+ Mbps on both outputs.

> 3 dayThese days, any 100/1000 switch will get the job done. This particular one is priced double than most competitors, but why? Honestly, I dont know but I prefer Linksys over other brands so I ponied up and burnt some extra money on the name / color. What can I say, it works. It is missing some crucial features, such as the ability to identify if a device is connected at 100 or 1000. Then again, it is a plug & play cheap home emergency solution. If any of my friends were to ask if I would recommend it, I would point them to a cheaper alternative that does the same thing or more, but for me I just prefer sticking with Linksys as I like to believe they learned something from Cisco many years ago.

> 3 dayThe switch works great. I get my full internet speed without any issues. (This is with multiple devices connected to the switch.) I am able to do file transfers from my workstation to my Ubuntu server running a samba share at full gigabit speed with no issues. I bought this as an extension to my network since my 10 gigabit switch had all its ports filled and connected this to devices that dont need anywhere near a 10 gig link to my servers. Up time is great I havent had to reboot it since it was installed 4 months ago. While I wish it had a management console like my Cisco gear this is a home grade switch and at this price point It makes sense that its plug and play and thats it. (This means vlans and other switching features on the switch are out of the question.) Its also metal and feels pretty well built.
