> 3 dayThe entrance to our house was constantly dirty. Thanks to the Makita 18V cordless vacuum, our entrance is now clean. Kept in the coat closet, its always ready to go and right there. No cords, just grab it, pull the trigger, and a couple swipes later...clean floors. This vacuum is a game changer. LOVE IT! The availability of replacement filters is also why I bought this.

> 3 dayThis little vacuum works great! Used on job sites to clean up small debris and keep customers home looking nice. Worth my money.

> 3 dayWith a 4 amp battery, this vacuum will go a long time. The dust cup is easy to clean and the tool is balanced about right. Good suction. Sadly, my wife has seized possession of this vacuum. Overall, this is a keeper.

Greater than one weekI found this a good tool for areas that require cleaning between your usual routine with a more powerful vacuum. Like at entrance areas, around kitchen table and counters. Computer stations, etc. Great on staircases. Look at this tool as being designed for convenience. It will not replace a full size canister or upright vacuum. The filter will require cleaning every time you use it. I use a small brush to brush off the filter and the inside of the filter canister housing the filter. The filter bag can be placed over 3 or 4 fingers and clapped in your hands to shake out fine dust. It can also be hand washed and left to dry before reinstalling. I think the reason for some bad reviews are: Not cleaning the filter when dirty. Not reassembling the unit correctly after cleaning. Attempting to do jobs meant for a full size vacuum. This may be one of the lightest duty vacuums on the market. And one of the most convenient. Either use it as such, or dont buy this unit. The reason I bought two of them is I already have Makita power tools with batteries and charger. The batteries are shared among all my tools. I would probably not have made these vacuum purchases if I had to buy batteries for each vacuum. I think the price of this unit is at the reasonable limit before batteries are added to the price. If you need to buy batteries and charger just for this unit alone, I would look elsewhere. The one and 2 star reviews didnt read the user manual.

05-01-2025A number of years ago I was looking for a hand vac. I read lots of reviews and this one had so much praise, but what impressed me was the positive reviews from men on ease of use because of the extension and the strong suction. One man said he even made it longer for him with pvc pipe. I bought one and it is one of the best investments I have ever made. Since then I have bought five more. Two of those were bought for our oldest son, one for a baby gift and then another one when they bought a two story house ( one for each level). I gave another son one when he and his wife moved. I have three. Two of those are at our primary home and the other at a second home. This vacuum is wonderful! I just got my third one and it came with a wall hanger. None of my others had this. I have looked for the holder as a separate purchase but no success. I hope Makita offers this soon.

> 3 dayI hated using my big corded vacuum. I hated trying to shove the vacuum head into places where it didnt want to go. I hated the onboard tools that fell overboard and were a pain to use. I especially hated repositioning the plug and trying not to run over the cord. I also hated my corded hand vac that screamed so loudly it made my ears ring. So when I bought a Makita drill I ordered this little cordless vacuum (tool only) to go with it. Its great! The suction is enough. Its easy to swap out the slot tool, but seldom necessary as the slim vacuum head fits into small spaces and picks up right to the front edge. Its handy for awkward places like the basement stairs. Its about as quiet as an efficient vacuum can be. A 5-minute daily cleanup and dust dump is all I need now and my 3.0Ah battery seems to last forever. I should add that I do not have carpet. This vacuum works very well on bare wood, concrete, and low-pile rugs, but I would guess that if you have deep-pile carpet you might not be quite so happy with it.

> 3 dayI had to tie a rubber band around the handle to roll up over the power button which saves my fingers from having to hold it down while I’m vacuuming. An annoying flaw in design, but that’s the only real complaint I have with it. It’s definitely not designed for carpeted floors or rugs but can do the job with some extra effort.

> 3 dayVery light. Battery lasts forever. Great for floors and stairs. Not good enough for carpet though. Sadly, it’s just not strong enough for carpet. Otherwise, I love this thing. No cord, no hassle, zips through kitchen and bathroom in seconds. Picks up hair like crazy, no tangled rotary thing so hair cyclones right in. Great little tool.
