Just a great drive. Rock solid, dependable and boy is is fast.

I bought this to be the boot drive for a new computer that had only HDD. I cloned the existing HDD onto this with Samsung Data Migration that was provided. The SSD with cloned Windows 7 pro OEM booted and looked great, but consistently could not install software, having problems with the Windows installation service. And this began a long nightmare of finding alleged fixes to the problem (including a registry patch tool from Microsoft) which were no help. Repeating the clone did not help. Windows restore only wants to put Windows on the HDD - in fact, I had to unplug the SSD even to try it. I found a way to create an install disk, which looked to work, but the installed windows did not see the network. Finally I found the free version of Macrium, and did a clone with that, which works. So I finally boot working Windows from SSD. Minus 3 stars to Samsung for supplying inadequate software that couldnt do what free Macrium could do! PS. I previously used Samsung Data Migration on another computer to successfully clone a Windows 7 (non-OEM) partition to a Samsung 840 EVO, without any difficulty. So I cant say I know what is going on.

Best upgrade I got so far! it is mega fast & installs just like a standard hard drive, but you will need a computer bay adapter tray and a SATA III cable as it doesnt come with them.

Amazing what a upgrade from an HDD to a SSD can do. This comes bundled with software to make this process very easy. One thing to remember is if you are using on a laptop, you will need an external enclosure to put the SSD in, so you can clone your drive to the new one.

Such a vast improvement over HDD. The Samsung Magician software makes it a breeze to clone your existing drive so that you dont lose any data and the transfer is seamless.

I love it. From shut down to getting on google chrome was so fast I had to call all my friends. 36 sec ... Dont believe me? Buy it and try it!

This seems to be a very stable, fast drive. I built a rig a year ago with a Crucial 480 GB SSD and two older WD and Seagate (Hybrid) drives. Anyhow, I noticed a few weeks back that my CPU and RAM were being used a lot and I could hear one of these conventional drives humming away. I disconnected both and once again peace and speed reigned in my computer. I decided to get an SSD for a backup drive and settled on this Samsung. Fast shipping as usual from Amazon. With an adapter, the drive was easy to install in my desktop. One mistake I made was not first installing the Samsung installation program from the CD provided. I never had to do that before. Windows recognized the new drive and I then proceeded to clone my C drive to the new Samsung using an old tried-and-true program, Casper 6.0. Started the process left the room, and when I came back Casper reported it could not copy the drive due to some problem. Reformatted the drive with Windows 7 pro and tried again with Casper. Same result. So then I relented and installed the Samsung programs -- one a Samsung Magic deal and the other, a Samsung Migration deal. After a wee bit of going through some required steps, used the Samsung migration program to clone the C drive (Crucial 480 GB) to the Samsung 250 GB. It took about 12 minutes, and from what I can tell, it worked just fine, My new Samsung is fast and quiet, naturally. I have not tried booting from it, but I am about 95% confident it will be just fine. Bottom line: a very good drive at a good price.

Worked exactly as I would have hoped it to! I added this to my computer and made it my boot drive so now my computer boots super fast rather than ridiculously slow. My 5 year old computer now operates like brand new!!

My apple mac book pro was really sucking before installing this SSD. I almost planned to dump that, I really amazed to see the difference in the speed now. I love it...
