From experience, Samsung SSDs are the best. They are reliable and durable. Unfortunately, their prices reflect their quality - about $10 to $30 higher than most competing brands. Of the 14 in the past six years, only two malfunctioned after continuous operation, 24/12. . All my other brands have gone bad between six months to 1.5 years. These include Kingston, WD, AData, and Hyundai. . Crucial is almost as good as Samsung. It is often priced $10 less. However, there are good deals with the latter. I was able to buy two 1TBs for $63 each - customer returns with 0 and 22 hours of operation.

Bought this for a new build, mainly to store larger programs and games on, works really well and the first time Ive had an ssd in a rig over an hdd

My okay built gaming computer with a 1070 and I5-9400k did well with gaming but just felt slow with the wait times and never ending boot up. I swapped out my 1TB HDD with this 1TB SSD and it completely transformed my computer. Everything loads at a minimum rate of 5x faster than it did with my HDD. Long story short, if you want a cheap way to make your computer quick again pick this up.
